yeah it's pretty bad....worse that some states you can own Imitation guns but other states you can't.

Sanded, put a couple of layers of primer on. I need to give it another round of sanding before paint goes on, and a little detail work to clean up a couple of seams.

Arg, had a mishap last night: I had the gun propped up after I took it in from sanding it: one of my cats knocked it over: the end of the barrel snapped off.
Looking at the printing patten, I figured that a good way to reconnect it wasn't to just glue it back on — I took four heavy nails and cut the heads off, then drilled a couple of holes into the base where it connects. The tip is hollow, so the nails slid right in.
I slathered some glue all over the nails and in the holes, and slid it all back together — I think with a little spot-work, it'll look okay once it's primed and painted again.
tmax — might be worth a modification if you're still messing with this — put a hole in both ends, so you can stick a rod in there to connect the two pieces. It might help strengthen that up a bit.

I know I'm necroing this but oh well. I'm not the biggest fan of the movie, but the ChemRail is my 2nd favorite sci-fi gun behind the Aliens Pulse Rifle. I purchased the 3D files on cults a few months ago and am going to be printing this out after I'm done with my current pulse rifle print that I'm in the middle of. I'll probably do a 2-3 of these to put on my wall (one in black, one in coyote brown or FDE, and maybe a third in olive drab like in the movie). I'm really pumped to finally get this printed.
Thanks for finding the scope file that was missing and THANK YOU so much for making these files available to purchase.
