Looks beautiful, yeah wrist zippers are extremely handy, had on mine aswell. Damn, this suit looks 3D to the touch!

Beautiful suit. What type of lighting situations were you in for the wrist zippers and the other pics? The color is way different.
Why do you think the latex splits at the joints when the stretch durability on the test fabric seemed to do okay?
Also, you went with FOD, right?

Great job Red. This is really interesting considering I'm working on the same print. Who did you go through for printing, and what was the cost?

Beautiful beautiful, thanks for the extra detail. Think I'm gonna go with that setup as well.

Thanks for the kind comments guys, much appreciated as always.
For those who asked, yes I went with FOD.

Small update, I've made a start on the webs. I'm not entirely happy with my work, I've gotten a bit rusty having not used puff paint in quite some time. I decided to start with the mask which was a mistake. I should've started with the back belt or some area that was not so obvious then it wouldn't have mattered if the lines were a bit rough. Anyways, see what you think:

Dude i dunno what part you think looks crap but i can't see it, it looks sweet man, thats some awesome work.

Re: Redtogusa's ASM2 WIP using Orhadars print. (Update 16/7/13)

this could be one of the best and most practical builds of this suit to date.

Im really liking the wrist/forearm zipper idea (i know it might not be new but i hadnt thought of it before) tempted to get it put in to one of my costumes if its possible

Re: Redtogusa's ASM2 WIP using Orhadars print. (Update 16/7/13)

Gorgeous. I can see the imperfections you're talking about, but honestly, the overall effect looks perfect. No need to be hard on yourself when your work is on that level. It looks amazing, really.

What sort of nozzle/bottle tips are you using? Got my latex in this week and have been doing some small scale tests, definitely not looking that clean yet.

I really don't see the flaws in the mask you're seeing.

Re: Redtogusa's ASM2 WIP using Orhadars print. (Update 16/7/13)

I think this build will revolutionize all spiderman builds from here on out

Re: Redtogusa's ASM2 WIP using Orhadars print. (Update 16/7/13)

So this latex and paint mix ends up puffing a bit?

In any case, it looks excellent! Almost impossible to have perfect lines by hand, IMO

Re: Redtogusa's ASM2 WIP using Orhadars print. (Update 16/7/13)

Tht is amazing! Did u stretch the fabric b4 u starting applying the latex?

Yes mate I did. It went over a manni head before painting.

Thanks guys for all the kind words, it's nice to get outside perspective sometimes. Still, the camera does make it look better than it is IMO. Anyway I'll carry on for now, see how it goes.

Think I should clarify a few things. I ended up only doing one thick layer of the latex. I discovered that by 'blending' the joins with the nozzle you can stop them from splitting.

The latex does shrink a bit as it dries so you have to lay it on slightly thicker than normal.

As the latex dries it darkens so mix a colour that looks lighter than the shade you want.

I started by mixing acrylic paints into the latex to get the colour I wanted but I've started mixing in puff paint which gives a really good consistency.

I've just been putting the latex mixture into an empty puff paint bottle and using the standard nozzle.

I hope this helps :)

Really amazing work. (Not that I expected any less from you :p) Have you considered what you're going to do for the spiders?
