eFX Reveals Stormtrooper Hero Legend Edition Helmet!

Yeah, if you guys get the green lenses dialed in it'll be perfecto!

Never thought I'd see the day!

I hope the trimming and assembly on the final product is done this well.

Beautiful. Please, just take my money now.

And just to be picky, are you going to make sure the mouth is painted correctly with the center ridge taller than the ones either side of it?

Great picture Gino. Thanks. Will these helmets be assembled in house or will they be sent over to china as the vader helmets? I would think assembly would be much quicker and easier with these.

So:

The Vader helmet came from a mold "found" in the Lucas Archives???? The actual mold used for the ANH Vader Helmet???? I assume a helmet was made from this mold then a new mold made from that helmet and that's what is being used for the new Vader Helmets????

The Stormtrooper ANH Hero helmet was made from one of the only two surviving Hero helmets in existence????? The Lucas Archives one is trashed but this mystery one is in near mint condition. A mold was made by pouring into this hero helmet and then a mold was made from that????

Is that all correct???

I ask for clarification but also I was told a similar story about the Don Post Deluxe. It came from the actual mold for Empire's helmet. From what I have read that has turned out not to be true.

BTW I'm uber excited about both of these. May not be able to get them but I'm gonna try. Just want clarification.

These are nothing like Don Posts crap. Believe the hype. These have clear lineage to the originals they come from and its well documented.

Also were in a different age to when the Don Post stuff came out. If the Don Post stuff were to come out now many people here would see them for what they actually are not what their told they are.

Easy there. I am the proud owner of Don Post #45. Unaltered and I love it. Could not care less about where it came from. It rocks.

Just asking about the story.

If you don`t care where it came from why state this,

.

I didnt intend my post to be harsh in any way.Sorry if it came out that way.I like the deluxe for what it is,but these days I personally would not bother purchasing one because there are much better helmets available with clear lineage to the originals.

Ben

Some of the DP helmets DO have lineage back to originals. The problem is (and what wasn't told at the time) that there was a GREAT deal of modification done to the DP's between the original and what consumers received. This is not the case with the eFX helmets. What they are doing is pretty unique within the licensed replica world and to my knowledge on Weta has done something similar in which they provided fans with a virtually unchanged replica. I can't believe it, but I am really loving what is happening within the licensed replica world.

Some one here has the helmets that were used by Don Post to mnake theres and the TK is very likley a ROTJ helmet or if not thaty its a SE helmet ,

This EFX Hero helmet is deffinently the real artical, (It would suit me more than any one if it wasnt, believe me the timing could not have been worse ) but it is , As is the Vader helmet ,

This is very impressive, and certainly an answer to Ainsworth's knockoffs. Any chance of body armor being offered in the future?

To clarify, the ILM mold wasn't found it was there all the time. The original mold used to make the screen ANH Vader helmet was destroyed at the end of production of ANH. So eFX used the ILM mold, that itself was taken off the original ANH Vader helmet, for their own master pull(s). Their master pull would then have been molded to make the Legend line of helmets. Whether the ILM mold itself is a production mold is open to question depending on when exactly it was made. But strictly speaking it isn't really a production mold insofar as it wasn't used to make production Vader helmets. But as a Legend, the Vader helmet would still fit under the criteria of having come from a mold taken directly off the original helmet. Of course eFX cannot claim they molded the original helmet themselves. There just happened to be a mold available.

Looking really nice, it's great to see EFX going after these rarer helmets.

I was fortunate to see a load of photos of the Hero this was cast from so it's pleasing to see the effort that's gone into it. IIRC that had a few more bumps on it although its probably best that they clean it up a little.

Cheers

Sounds good. Just wanted clarification. When I read things like this from the EFX website:

"Our master pattern was cast from vintage molds in the Lucasfilm archives which are believed to have been made by none other than Rick Baker from the screen used Vader helmet back in 1977:

Makes me a little nervous. They say "believed" to be made by Rick Baker and made from the original ANH helmet. Not is was. Just they believe it was. Rick Baker is alive and well. Why not just ask him. Then a near perfect mint Stormtrooper Hero shows up.

Just asking and discussing. Know one needs to get upset. Not questioning anyone's word. Just wanted to discuss a little. I love my DP Deluxe and you could not pry it out of my hands but the lie there does bug me. Would have bought it regardless if they said they scratch built it. I'm more interested in how it looks personally than the lineage. Just a matter of principal.

Thanks for the info.
