eFX Reveals Stormtrooper Hero Legend Edition Helmet!

You didn't do anything wrong and I'm sorry if you thought I did.

Guys,..no worries. It's all good. Just talking here.

On the Stormy I am a little lost on the bumps discussion. I have seen some bumpy top Stormys. I have to admit I'm more of an idealized prop type person, however this Hero looks awfully clean and bump free. This is a good thing for me but I'm a little confused. Shouldn't the Hero be the really nice one and not be bumpy???????

BTW are we ever gonna find out who's Hero this is based on? Although I'm pretty sure I know.

There were only 6 or so hero buckets. They were SUPPOSED to be the "close up" only helmets but we saw more background or "stunt helmets".

The stunts were bumpy, the hero's were smooth.

Although the hero's did have certain consistent tells or whathave you... Notice one of the teeth beyond the frown is there more on one side and smooth on the other. Which was 100% correct! :)

The screen used helmet HAS been identified. Look a few pages back... Or watch the scene where the troopers capture Leia. There is one stunt and one hero at the front of her escort. THAT hero IS the donor! ;)

Kerr, the current offering is an idealized symmetrical piece. THIS new "legend" bucket is an exact casting in all it's asymmetrical glory! :)

So the one I posted, by the same company, is fully wearable otherwise? It's just an idealized single cast piece?

I really don't care about the symmetric/assymmetric stuff. I'll probably pick up the more ideal version then. Anyone know if the flat lenses can be removed somewhat easily and put in bubble lenses?

That's the CE line Kerr it's injection moulded plastic there's a bunch of threads probably in the costuming section of people modding these, MR bought them out originally so they might be under their name if you do a search,eFX inherited the tooling from them.
In terms of accuracy they're white and look like stormtrooper helmets but that's as far as it goes, in terms of general shape, construction and detail they're off in every department but they aren't meant to be anything other than budget costume pieces really.
They are also meant to be representative of the stunt style helmets not the hero style which have several differences other than bubble versus flat lense.

Holy crap Def, :cheers

Perfecto explanation.

I wouldn't have been as pleasantly subtle! :lol

Kerr, i don't know if you remember meeting me years back, at that time I would think your GB pack was spot on... Good as anyone would ever need...

Didn't you just upgrade that pack???

Just sayin! :p

Meaning, one will lead to the other. If you get the CE, you will eventually want something closer to what this legend trooper is. :)

Well I do like the photo on the first post of this newer version, but price is going to be a sticking point for me. The idealized version looks reasonably priced for it as far as my interest in SW. When do we hear what this hero one would cost?

Not sure that I recall the meeting! Anyway, I want to upgrade my Proton Pack, there's stuff that would make it better, a good wand, clippard valves, and other stuff. But it gets it's point across looking at it, especially now that it's next to a Ghostbusters poster and Slimer. :lol

After all the stunt/background helmets were pulled the forms/tools were cleaned up and reworked to make the 6 hero/close-up helmets hence the same general shape but a smoother appearance and some details being softer and others reworked and removed enirely such as the bump on the lower edge of the right eye.
The frown is also painted differently and fewer teeth cut out plus flat lense material is replaced by a bubble lense.

perfect explaination:)

Can anyone explain the differece between an AA trooper hero helmet and this new EFX one, then? Exept of the green lenses it seem like it´s to be the same thing, right?
I´m quite happy with my AA, but thinking about taking the EFX one as well.

How do you see this, Guys? Will it worth, having both, if the money isn´t the issue?

If money isn't the issue TJ can you get me one as well?

Seriously the main difference will be that the EFX one is actually cast from an original.

AFAIK the SDS helmets are not from the 'original' production used ANH moulds, but are based on the (so-called) 'ANH prototypes': LINK

ah, interesting. thanks for posting! I see...but it also comes from the same molds, right? Screeused or not.

Jedimaster, I meant the helmets compaired to their autenticy in terms of shape, size, materials, etc, beside the argument of not having enough money to afford both of them.

Starwarscollector: these AA molds seems are cleaned up so they look very much hero helmet authentic.

Is there any difference in terms of the authentic look between those two helmets?
Does the EFX helmet have a chin liner? I´m asking because the AA doesn´t have one.
But when Luke took off his helmet, there wasn´t one either.
Did the real ones had them?

Buy the eFX Joe if you can and haven't bought AA's, i don't wanna get into the AA saga it's been done to death and will only clutter up this thread.
Everything else aside i'm pretty sure the eFX will probably come in at a cheaper price than AA's if the Legend vader is anything to go by and i believe the eFX trooper is going to be available from European retailers also so no huge shipping cost for us this side of the pond.
Also the eFX will hold it's value a lot better being a limited edition unlike the SDS helmets.

Thank you very much defstartrooper! These are all good arguments. I´m considered to buy it. As I also like the green lenses.
Does anyone have information about a chinstrap on the hero helmets?

If you look at the 1st post's pictures starting on the second pic, there appears to be a strap with a snap dangling. Don't know if this will be on the final product but it's there in the pics.
