ebay user; cz_tyshc , Reselling 3D models and PEP files

Hi guys

Thanks to a keen eyed user on thingiverse, he sent me links to ebay pages of my 3D models that this "cz_tyshc" was selling without my knowledge. Under the creative common licence this is not allowed but obviously this means nothing to some people. He also has a load of other models and pep files he is reselling so if any of you have done similar work please check out his page and contact or report him.

I have contacted him personally through ebay first to get him to take my pages down and have said that he does not I will escalate it through ebay to forcefully remove it.

This person has a T51-b "DIY Paper Model". You'll see it if you scroll down the items he has for sale.

you will see that he has pictures of the helmet from this guy's build thread here on the RPF: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=248981&highlight=fallout



What I noticed, though, is that the pictures on the RPF helmet thread, authored by Nikolaus, don't have the WIP photo where the helmet is sprayed in primer. The Ebay listing for the helmet model does have a picture of the helmet before it was painted, basically covered in primer.

Also, the model he seems to be selling is nothing more than the original game model, free for everyone.

You can see it's in his ebay listing, but not on the build thread. How would the recaster in question have gotten that picture if Nikolaus didn't post it in his thread?

That wasnt the one, he had a page before it was removed (because I told him to remove it where he was selling the STL's I uploaded to thingiverse along with my renders and the automatically generated images from thingiverse.

No, I think you're misunderstanding me.

I'm not saying the helmet DIY paper kit was your model. What I'm saying is that the pictures create a link between the ebay user and the RPF user Nikolaus.

Basically, unless Nikolaus has another thread somewhere with that specific picture, there is no way the digital recaster you linked us to could have got that picture (assuming he simply stole Nikolaus's pictures from his build thread without permission). My suspicion is that RPF user Nikolaus is in fact the guy you're dealing with.

If that's the case, then it doesn't matter if he took down his sales page with your models. Digital recasting is against forum rules, and grounds for being banned.

I'm sorry to hear your work was being ripped off. You've done much for this forum and the Fallout community, it's a shame to see your hard work ripped off.
