EA worst company in America 2nd year in a row

Yep.

I saw the ad on TV for Battlefield 4 and thought to myself "Now THERE'S a game I won't be buying."

Remember where there was a half dozen companies publishing games that they made themselves or for other companies? Now you have atari, square, and EA. How is that not a monopoly?

Edit: And now Atari isn't even atari it's just a brand name owned by some other group

I think you mean oligopoly. And yes it's turning into that type of market, the only major players left out there are EA, Activision, Square Enix, and the 3 console manufacturer-backed publishers - Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Given the economics of the video game business, it actually makes more sense for a few players with a larger portfolio of games each in this type of market, that's why you're seeing market consolidation over the last several years. I wouldn't be surprised seeing Square get bought out in the next few years.

I had stopped buying any EA game for a number of years. Then I gave Mass Effect 3 a shot because I loved ME2 and BioWare. After that debacle, my decision was justified and not another dime will go to EA.

Activision is going to be on the same boat soon especially since they laid off 40 people from High Moon Studios AFTER the Deadpool game was completed. There will be a day when Call of Duty and World Of Warcraft will no longer be their bread and butter.

I wouldn't be surprised seeing Square get bought out in the next few years.

EA actually had a stake in them before they merged with Enix and then bought it back.

I've had nothing but trouble with their "Simpsons Tapped Out" game. It's a shame they can't put as much money into support as they put into development.

The thing about High Moon ticks me off as they did awesome work on those transformers games so the next one will be crap because of no staff to make it. I never pay full price for an EA game. i try to either get it from the 20.00 bin or used.

I almost forgot about EA's last year's win. While ME3's ending and other questionable stuff certainly earned them the worst game company by far, this year's win I can actually believe thanks to how they turned an iconic and treasured game franchise into a hollowed out shell of it's former self.... that doesn't work....

Not only was the writing on the wall for a disastrous opening, the game itself couldn't even deliver some of it's key features. The AI is a joke, the population can be bugged to high numbers and the social aspect doesn't even come close to what other online games were able to do. All of this, and it's still not fixed.

I think the new CEO complaining about it sealed their fate for next year too. They're like JC Penny: they need to get the CEOs back from when the times were good.

Damn...lucky for me the only game I've been compelled to play is BF3...possibly 4 if it has enough "extras"

I've been playing BF3 since launch pretty much daily except for maybe 6 weeks where I played other stuff (ME3...) and had no problems. My only complaint is that, at least in BF3, you're in game name is tied to the Origin account. So I ended up having to add stuff to the name I usually use. Remember also that EA is the publisher so the game may still be good, you just may or may not get good tech support.

Boy they sure don't know how to shut the hell up and stop ticking off their customers do they? This'll win them fans when their games fail to sell. They seem to not realize how many people are waiting weeks or months to buy when the first 3 days are the most important for a game company or how many buy used or at blowout prices.

The response letter is a valid argument, but he comes off like such a ****** that no one's going to listen to it.

Yes - valid, and while their sales remain high he's 100% right (and a ******).

Anybody else find it hilarious that they slammed Haliburton for oil management when their bread and butter is well logging and subcontracting?:popcorn

So he is admitting they are indeed horrible, just not as horrible as polluting the environment or corporate thievery. I cant wait for that ad campaign. Somebody call Don Draper!

Still, I can't resist buying Madden every year, as I couldn't resist the Star Wars Blu Rays. Its like crack. Maybe I have a problem.

Anyone consider that maybe that's not actually a real press release?

At any rate, the thing that irritates me is the over-monetization of games. Pretty soon you'll buy an FPS game and it'll be like joining the Royal Army c.1799 where you have to pay for all your gear. "Uniform is 7p, laces for your boots a ha'penny, cartridge box -- empty, mind -- is another ha'penny..."
