Here is the first pic of the complete suit. It still has some strapping issues but I'm happy with the way it turned out. One lady said I must be the "professional" Iron Man.
I had the honor and pleasure of preparing, providing escort and documenting DW Design Studios' initial run at the 2012 San Diego Comic-con International.
My pictures of DW Design Studios in action can be found at my 2012-07-09 to 2012-07-16 - 2012 San Diego Comic-con International Flickr gallery. Wow, masterle looks really small NeXT to you !
Mind if i ask you how tall you are and the scale you used for the abs/cod section ?
I'm 5"10' and i'm having trouble to fins the right scale, 1.6 being to big for me
THAT'S "master" Le next to you? Your suit looks stunning compared to his! I don't know why everyone loved his suits so much when there are so much better ones (like yours) out there! Well done!
Well I think that's his mkVII armor
People tend to be impress because of the flaps and electronics features it has but i have to agree, your mkIII looks stunning !
Yeh, that's very true. Although electronics ect are cool. Without a good looking suit, its kind of wasted. I know to the regular citizen anything that even resembles Iron Man would impress them, but to us, it takes a little bit more
Saying that, I really wish I could have made Comic-Con.
WOW, this tread is really starting to take off!!!
Glad to be home from Comic Con. The first troop was a big success but after seeing some of the photo's I have some major updates to make it look and troop even better. Hopefully I can get him up on my complete mannequin tonight.
Here are a few quick answers to some questions:
1. The suit is no longer being produced.
2. It is mostly made of resin and fiberglass.
3. The neck-seal and some other smaller parts are rubber.
4. I'm about 6' 1" and 195 lbs. The boots are fiberglass resin on the bottom so my guess with the suit on I'm around 6' 5".
5. I'm really happy with the color but after seeing the Mark 3 in person I plan to repaint with a more of a maroon color.
Darren
Darren, once again thanks for providing this thread. Suit looks great. Hope to see next year at comic con in my suit. You've given me great pointers to getting it done right.
