Dune Box of Pain Replica

I recently invested in a 3D printer and this was my first print of my own model. I’ve had a hankering for a while to make my own box of pain and haven’t seen any that look as close to the real version as I would like. So I spent some time modeling it, printing, and painting. I ended up adding the stl to my Etsy shop for those interested (click here)
The paint job took the longest but I am super happy with how it looks

This is excellent! You nailed the paint job on this. Those greens are beautiful. I've been working on one of these, but your file looks a lot better. I might switch gears and print yours instead!

Yeah! First I painted the whole box a dark blue/green with some silver added in to give it a slightly metallic feel. After that I painted the most prominent colors (basically painted each square a different shade of either bright mint green, blue, gray, etc. as you see in the final product). I then did a pass of black, filling in all of the cracks, nooks and crannies and holes to help show the wear. As a final pass I drybrushed silver with a touch of blue green mixed in so that the edges would look worn, thus showing the metal underneath. The silver drybrushing and the filling in of cracks with black were the most key part to making it look realistic.
