Limited Run Droid Caller - Precision Machined Kit

Wow!!, good thing I ordered a kit as well. When I ordered there where only 16 left. Can't wait to assemble mine with the Luke cap I'm getting from the run.

I sent an email, and received the DXF file yesterday. The drawing is 1:1 scale. It's drawn like a traditional stencil, so it has dashed lines. To use it, you will either have to cut through the dashes after you print, or redraw it to be continuous.

If someone here has a real Kobold, may you position a T-square to show where to align the logo? Perhaps against a landmark such as the four cable ports.

DEC replied they do not have time to take any side jobs right now. I assume this means they are not able to engrave the logo through the paint at this time.

I am considering these two businesses for an engraving service:

San Antonio Laser Engraving

Dark Alliance Firearms

Perhaps they can even laser engrave haircell texture.

This particular kit is closest to the Han ANH style droid caller. It is not the same as Han's in the other films, nor Luke's in any film. I have not seen any close photos of the Jawa callers, so do not know if they match. If a kit owner wants this to look exactly like it did on Han in ANH, some lathe work will be required.

I'm sure the kit will look great when I receive it. I have also ordered both the Luke and Jawa caps. But both of those caps might not be canon to this caller. And this caller does not entirely match Han's yet. So I'm wondering whether to make it customized. Laser stipple a pattern of Imperial and/or First Order hexagons. Then write Kobold with Aurebesh letters.

Just found this thread, so I'll ask here since it's the more appropriate than the ANH blaster thread, LOL.

Any chance you can sell the contact pin assembly (the pin, the plastic disc, not sure if anything else is needed) separately? I was gifted the Anovos version, else I'd buy one of yours, but apparently Anovos decided it didn't need anything in the cavity on top. *sigh*

Do you know what finish of black, the plastic disc is supposed to be?

Received. Super fast shipping from NY to CA. Now to fine time to build this.
Thanks Dave.

Got mine today too! Gonna have to figure out how I want to handle the engraving.

I’m sure most people here are accustomed to kit assembly (this was a well designed kit that made assembly quick and easy to the point that this may not be needed but anyway....) but for those who are more visual, here’s a quick assembly video.
