Dredd movie (2012) costume parts identification

I have a leather master working on exact duplicates of the grenade holder, disc grenade harness, and medic belt. Should be done next week.

Would love to see some pics when they are done. Does anyone have any good clear pics of the reverse of dredds uniform ? I'm trying to work out how the leather pattern on the pants runs.

are you doing the bomber hinges like in the movie on the med pouch?

I couldn't tell you at this point. It's all in the hands of the leather master. He has a handful of reference pictures he is working off of and seems pretty confident. We will find out soon! :)

Any leads on the gloves? I have searched literally thousands of pictures of motorcycle gloves (assuming, of course, if they ARE motorcycle gloves) and I haven't found anything remotely close. From what I can tell, the defining factors are the knuckles, thumb "knuckle", and vertical ribs on the back of the hand.

only this highly dodgy one....

it seems to have a curve to it..maybe it could be cheated using an EL panel?

I've checked Gall's but didn't come up with anything. Do you have a link?

When I get back in the office today ill find it in the catalog then I find it on the web

Edit: In the meantime (this may have even been it) 5.11 XPRT HardTime Gauntlet

I believe with some mods, for instance leather over the knuckles with the plastic showing and leather strips leading back plus some.

Can anyone tell me a good source for the rubber ribbing on his outfit the stuff that goes around the outside of his biker collar and just before his knees and elbows I know the inside part of the collar is headliner material but I'm still looking for a good match on the other. Also I think I know what the used for the circular part on his belt is. Its a cut down police cuff holder I'm looking for a match will post when i find it.

This is the jacket I'm using for my Dredd costume kit. I've spent hours searching the web and this is the one I decided looked the coolest. It's not exact but it has a "futuristic" look to it as is. I will be laying the armored vest over this jacket and adding elbow pads. Make sure to check out the back picture of the jacket. VERY Dredd.

Have you seen THIS jacket? It's plain, has the neck snap but might be easier to work with on the sleeves (less stuff on them). I'm still considering doing a Dredd but if I was, I'd probably choose this jacket and add the elbow pads after.

The ribbed part that you find on the collar as well as the jacket and the pants I can almost guarantee is leather. I have the same ribbing on my jacket for my busa (or use to have busa). I think Yarko describes in his thread how he did it. The "sticky bomb" holder I think is a compass holster from 40s-60s era military. I really think I've seen it before surplus stores and also back at Fort Benning

I'd agree with the compass holster but after scouring the intarwebs, I can't find something that's exactly like that. But if one was so inclined, there's a few that have a similar shape and, perhaps, could be cut like the one in the flick.

I think (well pretty sure ) the shoulders started of life as some sort of builders knee pad.
Like these, yes I know the pattern is different but you can what I mean.

The armor was all fabricated guys, none of it was store bought.

Lol, after a small debate I have to agree with Bowelrock. Watching that featurette about the armor you can see the artist working on the shoulders which are flexible; they truly look custom made
