here is movieman's new project.
I would like to thank movieman again for letting me post him work. :cheers.

here is a few words as always

" I have started on the new version dalek from dr who, as normal with me, I have gone for the life sized scale.... Just print off on to paper and then glue together and then use PVA or spray mount glue to mount parts on to a thick gauge cardboard.... time to raid the local supermarket. Then assemble your very own dalek... as normal you can fibre glass over the cardboard or if you are an expert with wood, you are welcome to use these parts as templates to construct a wood version. Please feel free to share with others, but remember who created these.

You have no idea how tempted I am to do this, but those Daleks have yet to prove themselves to me as anything but laughable. Any chance we might see a Davies Dalek pep? Either way, very impressive model, and it doesn't look too difficult to pep, either. Could result in lots of full sized Daleks. Heck, I could even see fan film opportunities in this.

Simply Brilliant. Can't say I'm totaly sold yet on the new design either but the pep work is Brilliant, and lets be honest a dalek is a dalek. They all rule.

Oh man this is indeed extremely tempting. Excellent work.

I had the post office ship me some big, sturdy, unfolded boxes for free, a while ago that would be perfect for this.

I'm doing this for sure when the Mrs goes back to work next month and after I finish another couple of my projects.

Very nice work. The top view looks great. :)

I'd love to say nice things about the other views too, but I really feel this was a serious misfire, and will be abandoned by the Beeb in due course.

That certainly doesn't reflect on Movieman's work, though.

I didn't particulary like the Dalek Teletubbies... but I'm glad the 2005-2009 ones are still going to be sticking around, maybe we'll have another war between the Daleks like many moons ago. One but can hope :D

This is awesome, im
One of the few who actually like this design and this project has been on the back burner for while

Great piece of work.

Given time and with a few good stories under their mid section, I'm sure these Daleks will make the past versions just a memory! :)

I'm not so optimistic. There's supposedly no Dalek story in the upcoming series. There's a lot of flannel being printed about the Daleks being overexposed and needing a rest, but that's obvious nonsense. I can't see the Beeb investing in securing the right to redesign the Daleks, then spending the readies to design, build, film and promote the new design, then engage in all the merchandise licensing argy-bargy with vendors...only to lay them off for the very next season for no other reason than a sense that 'we've done enough Dalek stories for a while'.

It's a decision that smacks of panic.

That's not the only reason they've done it. They had that many complaints about the redesign from viewers, that they decided to get rid of them for a while.

So gona build this, thanks!!..
As for the design, I like it, just dont like the colours. Even though I do like the old peter cushing movies with the clolourful daleks. I had read that they were going to keep these ones as the heads (leaders of their different sections) and have the older style daleks as foot soldiers.

That's what I meant. A panicked reaction to an unexpectedly hostile reception from fans - hence face-saving measures.

Good job man! Seems pretty simple just really big pieces. Making a Dalek is definitely in my "cool props to make" queue. Any one wanna team build one? :lol

If you make a Davies one then it'll jump to hobby priority number one. :)
