I recently did a bought model kit of A Spider Dalek, which was based on the wining entry in a "Design A Dalek" contest is 2004 in honor of the revived series (2005). I had a great time and decided I'd like to make a model of the Dalek I designed for the contest. It was a new version of the special weapons Dalek from Remembrance Of The Daleks. I call it the HEAT Dalek, Hostile Environment Assault Tank Dalek.
The concept was a heavy weapons Dalek, with tank treads to traverse rugged terrain. I know Daleks float as of Remembrance Of The Dalek, but I though it was a cool idea anyway.
This model is 1:6th scale to go with the 12 inch figures. The model is a combination of 3D printing and scratch building (and tank treads stolen from a model kit). I'm pretty happy with it. I've bought a cave diorama to display it. I hope to get some pictures of it at a park very soon.
