I don't hear any of you ****** bags complaining about a white guy playing the Price of Persia.
Oh, wait, that's different, right?

I didn't because I didn't give a damn about that movie, still don't. In all likelyhood won't see it either.

I've been reading this thread with mixed disappointment and curiosity. It seems like the people who are firmly against this hypothetical casting have a lot invested in the canon, so the following question may not apply.
For the people who are very upset, do any of you have any similar strong feelings about several of The Last Airbender's main cast being portrayed by white actors? Of all the various (and sometimes preposterous) analogies presented in this thread, this one seems to be the most a propos given the source material. I was wondering if these casting decisions have made anyone's temp. rise.

You're all so cute.
This is about an audition; and again, I'd much rather have someone who can play the part than look it.
Here's another eye-roll for good measure:
:rolleyes
Do I get another infraction for that?
and dont forget Indian
:lol

If you people would care to look closer you´d probably see that Danny Glover is an artist, working in various areas.
I am pretty sure that it´s not like he´s really auditioning for the role, having absolutely no chance of landing the role because of his lack of experience in the performing arts.
It´s a "performance", I am pretty sure of that![]()
Danny Glover is on your TV every week on "Community," and he's been doing comedy for years. "Mystery Team," which he helped write, composed the music for, and starred in came out on DVD last week. Check it out - it's very funny! He is indeed an actor, but I don't think he'd even want a black spider-man. He's trying to be funny, as he almost always is. Can't you guys see the pics of him in Tobey's suit? That face is meant to make you laugh. Not complain.
And sadly, this is not about feasibility for inclusion in the Avengers movie, or even syncing up with the other Marvel movies. This one is still in Sony's hands.
I'm with you, Stig. And Donald Glover.
Donald Glover is hardly anything like Will Smith in any capacity. Besides what is white about Spiderman? The way he's been drawn. I say give Glover a shot.
Let's not forget: the ultimate test for the spiderman reboot will be the script and the feasibility for inclusion into the Avengers movie.
