Doctor Who: Journey to the Center of the TARDIS bottle SPOILERS!

Just a few notes on your design (great start, by the way!). I don't believe the diamonds on the border should be squished; that's just the warping of shape from the label wrapping around the bottle. It's actually a perfect diamond. Also, I do believe the edges (points) of the diamonds are touching. You can see it in rantingpenguin's shot of the bottle on its side.

Label is looking better & better! I was going to look for the bottles this weekend but I think my truck needs a new deferential so may have to wait. :cry

Just to throw out there though I was brushing my teeth & my Cinnamint Listerine mouthwash is a very bright purple & would probably look good for the liquid inside..

That's what I initially thought at first (see my first design post) but after (re)viewing the image below, me and several DW fans at work are convinced the diamond borders are stretched lengthwise:

What I really love about this project is how readily available the bottles are, that, coupled with when and if these bottles go on display, any inconsistincies are an easy fix!

Ipotr4, I noticed that in the screen cap the double line above "Vol." seems to go directly through the center of the Symbol tot he left of the Seal of Rassilon, you may want to tweak yours down slightly.

I have a feeling if you watched from the US then the TARDIS translated the image as "ENCYCLOPEDIA", maybe if you watch live on BBC the TARDIS translated the image as "ENCYCLOPAEDIA" ??? :p

probably an American spell checker this site keeps telling me i'm spelling colour and aluminium wrong :facepalm

I went to my local Ikea tonight. I wanted to get the three bottle set to make one prop and use the other two for bartending, but they were sold out of both sets. Apparently they're discontinued, but they can still occasionally get stock in until August 1. All the stores in the LA are are out though. However, they did let me buy the display models, and for whatever reason whoever bought the other sets had taken all spout top bottles and left the regular ones, so I got to take 4 good ones for $28 total.

Here are the Amazon links, as that's how I had to get them--I live too far away from an IKEA for the trip to be worth it :(

This is for the three-bottle set...I'm using the clear for the Encyclopedia volume and the other two may get DW-themed wine or beer labels, depending on what I can find:

Amazon.com: IKEA - LIMMAREN Bottle, assorted colors (X3): Home & Kitchen

Best act fast as there's only one set left in stock at this point. There's also a four-piece bathroom set with two clear bottles:

Amazon.com: IKEA - LIMMAREN 4-piece bathroom set, light green: Home & Kitchen

Hope this helps!

Of course these bottles are being discontinued soon.. why must fandom be so complicated/annoying?

Snagged 3 of the 4 piece kits so that'll give me 6 clear bottles. Does any kind soul wanna send me 3 regular tops from their darker green bottles so I don't have encyclopedias with a soap pump dispenser? :p

Does anyone know if the green bottles are made of green glass or if they have a green coating? can it be stripped off?

I second the request for a PDF download of the final art with different numbers... I now have two bottles, and can't wait to have Vol 7 and Vol 8 on display with McGann's screen used TARDIS console at the next show in August! Any suggestions what beverages would suit #7 and #8? I'm thinking water for McCoy and vodka for McGann...

Sorry for being away from the thread for so long, work picked up last week.

The green bottles are green glass, no coating or tinting I can find.

My IKEA in Orlando had a ton left, may be able to buy a few package next week and I'll put them up in the Junkyard for sale. Not going to break up the packages though, I don't have use for that many green bottles. :)

And is there any chance we can get the label graphics in 300 DPI or higher? The 200-ish DPI version currently posted to the thread doesn't print very well.

If everyone is happy with the 2"x4" dimension previously suggested, I'll go ahead and post the 1-12 labels in either 300dpi jpeg or pdf.

2x4 looks right to me!

Does anyone know what kind of paper this is? It's looks kind of semi-glossy and the silver catches light and looks white or cream in some shots.

looking at this picture the label doesn't go alll the way around the bottle more like half maybe a bit less and the diamond pattern continues on the sides rather that stopping at the end but thanks for the pdf of the labels fantastic work.
