Limited Run DL44 TFA Blaster Kit

>By Grabthars' hammer,I can't believe that I actually got in on the initial ANH run.I'm usually the last to know anything..:wacko
Email in my inbox today..production has started and excitment is climbing towards 11.

Hmm, I havent received any email.. Odd.

I don't want to speak for Dave, but there might be additional runs in the future. If not there are other options out there, just do a quick search. (Dave is the only one that I am aware of that is making TFA parts, however.)

I'm sorry to see I missed out on the TFA kit. I've had the ANH kit from the first run and it's quite amazing. If you do another run of TFA kits I'm definitely interested.

Yes there might be another run, but not for a couple months after this one, I have some other projects going on,
I started to cut the blanks for the flash hiders, and I am having the mold for the mount made next week,

Well...@#$%@#$%@# :(

I finally got the HFC last night because still said LTD Run, not closed....now i'm waiting til august or so for the next wave?

I have DEC's ANH kit, M19 kit, and Droid Caller kit, the wait is definitely worth it. His work is amazing, the smallest details captured, everyone I show it to says the level of craftsmanship is amazing on Dave's work.

Keep your eye out in the junkyard, once they start getting delivered maybe you can pick one up. I don't know the exact differences between the ANH kit and the TFA one (I believe ANH can be modified to fit) , but you could post a WTB thread too.

I feel your pain missing our on a run, but at least there will most likely be another one. I can also almost guarantee that between now and when they get delivered at least one person will sell theirs.

I just got to see the TFA movie and the DL44 is clearly painted semi-gloss black in every scene,
I don't know why the props Disney has on display are grey.

Maybe they tried to match the original HFC finish.

I would still love to know how they modified the
left side details.
Could you use JB Weld "Steel" to fill the holes and then machine the "pocket"? The package says that you can drill/tap it.

You could. Any putty epoxy would work too.
Dave is making a thin plate to replicate the left side details to make it easier.

But it's going to be plastic, right?
I'm sure it'll look good, but I'm just hoping to keep it metal as much as possible. :unsure

Yes I am including a plastic plate, if you want metal you can use the plastic as a template and cut out a metal sheet,
McMaster-Carr ( www.mcmaster.com ) has small pieces of all different kinds of metal you can buy.

Started making the barrel sample, it looks close so far,
I didn't put the flat on yet,
