Oh those grips are tempting! Are they "real" mauser size or the larger denix size?

The outside shape is the same as the C96

Just wanted to show you guys what happens when you don't read an instruction carefully (or not at all). This time the victim was my barrel and flash hider (from DEC) which I attempted to blacken with BC aluminum black.

I cleaned the parts with denatured alcohol and put them in a plastic bag where I poured in the Aluminum black. A solid, kind of pouros layer formed. I wasn't home for a while and when I came back the layer just flaked of and left what you see here. On the barrel part a piece of also fell of when I tried to remove some of the residue. Removing it with sandpaper takes quite the effort so guess I'll be ordering some new shiny parts!

When using these chemicals, you need to work fast and be there with it the entire time.

Weeeell, I took the parts out as soon as they turned black. After that all I did was just remove the leftovers of the liquid so really wondering where it went wrong.

Finally, the build is done (well, almost). I made a MR style display case for it as well.
I think it turned out great!
