Disney wants more 'Star Wars' in its theme parks

$6,000 for this? I'm sorry but I'm going to have charge more for my time.

Oh wait, I pay them?.......BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: good one, Disney.
Lol yeah there are even more videos today… I was really hoping I could convince myself on spending the money.. but now.. there’s no way I’m even thinking of it.. such a shame

After the amazing experience I had at galaxy edge I thought this was going to be the next level.. and with the price tag I thought that was proof enough of how elite it was going to be

I’m in total disbelief lol

You have to see the chewie costume they use… not even close to 501st approved.. hell I think rubies could make a better chewie..

How they have this half @$$ chewie when the chewie in galaxy edge looks like he walked off the set.. I just don’t get it

I heard rumors they will be face lifting the place, changing a few ships, and adding a speeding bike ride next. Going with a mando theme

I don’t know how true it is, but I can see them doing it
I hope this is true, but they seem so intent on pushing the ST.

Galaxies Edge is so lifeless when I go, it makes me a bit sad. It’s a wonderful experience your first time, but I get tired of just seeing Kylo, First Order Troopers and the occasional Rey and Chewy. It would be exciting if they actually had characters from current shows walking around like Din, Boba, Fennec, Ahsoka, etc.

Im not anti-Disney, but I really hate how much they only care about the ST.

Who knows maybe you'll get to ride one of those neat 1950's style scooters from the Boba Fett show!

  • Haha
Reactions: Ron
I think this is wicked cool, these kids are charged
She walks and Talks like a Protocol Droid!
To be fair so does Daisy Ridley..

Do you think those kids realise she's Not the real thing ?

IMO its going to be filled by Parents with too much money and Pretentious Kids!

Yeah I think they know. But they sure do look like they are having a good time

If the rumors are true.. they will be getting a facelift with mando and crew

My thing is, no one goes to Six Flaggs or any amusement park for that matter for the accommodations and luxury which is the basis of the entire Halcyon experience. You go to these places for thrills and cheap food. Nothing about this feels even remotely thrilling and it's out of the budget for most. I get that some of this is geared towards what's age appropriate but where are the rides? If you go to Six Flaggs you aren't looking to play cards with Bugs Bunny (sabacc) or to take dancing lessons with that freakish old guy from the commercials (lightsaber/ remote training). You want to fly a ship or race a pod or shoot stormtroopers or duel Vader himself.

What kid gives a crap about hearing a Twilek sing while mom and dad get drunk on blue milk? If you went to Six Flaggs and the rides weren't exciting or there were no rides, you'd be bored and why Halcyon gets a pass just because it's got a bigger budget and that fancy Star Wars name attached is beyond me.

What makes it disappointing is the fact that despite my misgivings about their SW films, I figured where Disney's strength was to create an exciting environment for families to experience the magic of their movies in an exciting way and I said as much when this theme park was announced years ago. I have no doubt people might enjoy this whole thing because anything Star Wars will suffice, but I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that a lot of fans will be put off by either the price or lack of true immersion into a world of adventure.

As a story Star Wars themes reach far beyond the surface of a quirky space adventure but the prospect of adventure is the very thing that's luring fans to this theme park and I just feel it's execution is sorely lacking. I know people have argued that you get out of it is what you put into it, but if luxury is what I'm promised after paying what amounts to 3-4 months or more salary into a 2 night experience that requires me to pretend that an imaginary cruise to knowhere is exciting, then I'd feel ripped off. I don't know how you could pay so much and expect so little.

I was thinking the same thing. Adam Savage's chewie blows this thing away.

Most of the people in the videos are YouTubers who frankly don't have to pay to be there. They have videos sponsors and patrons who basically pay them so they don't have to work and go to amusement parks all day and make videos about it.

The super Carlin brothers are very honest, this is the first time I have really questioned them.. you can actually see then thinking before they say anything

Which is very disappointing.. there are some visitors who have slipped mentioning that the staff kept promoting them to post things positive, and made jokes about “not ever leaving if you say anything negative”

If they lowered the price I could see a lot of people doing this

But the money for what you get is ridiculous.. this reminds me of the Indiana jones show..

Chapek I strongly believe is turning Disney into a 1%era experience

They have cut back so much, trying to do away with annual pass.. he’s turning this into a exclusive rich family experience..

The cruiser I think is the prime example.. give them the least amount we can and charge the most

They can try to hide this failure behind the YouTube influencers.. but it’s only a matter of time

“Finding the force” is a father son team, the father has no problem voicing his concerns with Disney.. I’m curious what they think when they upload their video

If anyone will be truthful it’s him, and I’ll be shocked if he sold out like all the rest of them

I enjoyed the Indy show especially with the Raiders Plane exploding at the end..we could really feel the heat..
From the clips I've seen it looks like quite a passive experience..

Chapek is just a bad CEO for Disney imo and I feel Disney is going to go through a dip.

Chapek is notorious as a cost-cutter, raising prices for Disney tickets while cutting costs on park maintenance and staff. According to rumors, this new halycon was originally part of base Galaxy's Edge which Chapek basically paywalled.

The price point is far too ridiculous for only 2 days as well. Based on some reviews, it seems that some reviewers enjoyed the experience like Disney Food Blog but stated the price was "too high," recommending it only for die-hard ST fans. Apparently there are multiple storylines to encourage people to come back to try to explore and unlock different storylines but at $6k a pop, no thank you.

I wonder if Chapek will consider lowering the price after the initial wave of visitors, giving out discounts for annual pass holders, etc. This $6k price tag cant stay.

I want to do this, mainly because I teach l theatre, so the desire to role play and see how the actors handle things really seems intriguing to me (and to secondly buy the exclusive merchandise). My girlfriend isn’t interested at all, and that really surprises me. We did talk about the cost vs. days. We agreed that we would pay $4K if it were two people, and four days, with access to the park all four days, but two nights just isn’t enough to justify the cost.

We both agree, for the price, we can enjoy an extended Disney trip without this experience, or we could go somewhere completely different, and lay on an exotic beach.

Lots have talk about the rooms and food but it really needs more interactivity and just things to do..
You can have a lot of very different life experiences for 6k elsewhere and prolly much more fun too..

Heck I bet a group of us in our various guises could organise a Wicked experience for far less and go away very happy indeed..
A bit like playing War games as kids but much better..
Hire out a suitable warehouse abandoned unit etc..
Air soft/nerf guns
CCTV type SW themed escape rooms the options are endless..
I've seen a few very cool SW themed Cantina bars..
