Disney wants more 'Star Wars' in its theme parks

The price point is far too ridiculous for only 2 days as well. Based on some reviews, it seems that some reviewers enjoyed the experience like Disney Food Blog but stated the price was "too high," recommending it only for die-hard ST fans.

I think you meant Star Wars fans. I can't imagine Star Trek fans giving a damn.

Lots have talk about the rooms and food but it really needs more interactivity and just things to do..
You can have a lot of very different life experiences for 6k elsewhere and prolly much more fun too..

Heck I bet a group of us in our various guises could organise a Wicked experience for far less and go away very happy indeed..
A bit like playing War games as kids but much better..
Hire out a suitable warehouse abandoned unit etc..
Air soft/nerf guns
CCTV type SW themed escape rooms the options are endless..
I've seen a few very cool SW themed Cantina bars..
That’s something I also posted about on my FB. Could you imagine going to this and then being in a “bad group?” That has happened to me with escape rooms several times, where it was just me and a few friends, but the place required more people, so strangers joined in. They either didn’t care to be there (so why attend???), or didn’t understand what was going on, so needed to be babysat. For 6K, I can imagine a whole lot more for somewhere else a whole lot cheaper, and have a better experience.

I could build several costumes and pretend to be a character in my own dang house, and never worry about this experience. Or I could wear an existing costume, and probably convert an entire room into a starship designed space, and still come under budget from the 6K price tag.

I meant Sequel Trilogy fans since apparently alot of the stuff revolves around the sequel trilogy.

Apparently you can choose to dress up but have restrictions (so no Captains log, met a pretty girl in a dusty planet). It does sound like a larping experience and you need a certain personality to really enjoy it (extroverted, energetic, etc).

For 5k I’m pretty sure I can spend close to a week in San fransico when Lucas museum opens up

For that money you could also travel from San Francisco to Los Angeles where the museum actually is.

Big rumors are they are already bracing for the flop..

It would not surprise me, based on the fan-press coverage. Perhaps a better idea would have been a regular star cruiser hotel that is an open ended experience, where you come and go as you want. It could have been less specific two day event focused, and more like a place to walk around in and relax. They could have still had these interactive areas and stuff, but just let you (or your kids) do them whenever, and not center it around a story.

One perk could have been a second gate at Hollywood Studios for hotel use only, where attendees go through the exact same transport ship deal to get to Batuu. Then you might get people staying for longer and wanting it for that specific perk. The extra “on board” attractions would just be added on things for staying at that specific hotel, similar to what some of the little nightly themed events on campus already are.

I just keep thinking I’m probably a lot more likely to walk around the hotel atrium, bridge, etc and hangout than I am to actively participate in the planned events. Though I like stuff that includes gamification, I don’t want that where I eat and sleep. And as my girlfriend pointed out, we like to sleep in, and have downtime, but this experience would probably legitimately have us up 20 hours a day because we would be paying so much for it. I’m not going to sleep when that cost me about $800 in time.

Jodo , the video you shared of Molly experiencing the hotel describes the “stress” of the experience- its go-go-go all the time. Although I’m not sure what’s stressful about pushing a few buttons to get the “Engineering Room” back on track. Some may want that that, but like you and your fiancé, I’d rather choose my own agenda for the day. My wife was a big no for the experience after seeing the video, regardless of the price. Essentially, you’re picking from 2-3 predetermined options in an algorithm on your data pad and then pushing a bunch of buttons to complete your mission. You have some other entertainment but the interactive stuff is pretty weak.

For $6,000, you and your family can get trapped inside a bunker, entertained by aliens, get yelled at by Captain Karen, eat weird food, and then be transported to an amusement park in the back of a Uhaul.

For $60, I can do some mushrooms and experience all of that from the my own sofa.

First video I’ve seen of day 2 in the park.. have to be back at 4pm or you’re not going back to the cruise liner..

Also sounds like you get all lightning lines, and lunch everywhere you want..
