I would like to say I remember when we liked things here, but I originally joined in '99 when TPM hit so I guess that would be a lie.

It seemed to sexualize them, squatting booty shakes to keep the teenage boys watching. Why? It wasn't showing a man harassing her or anything like that. It was two women being playful together in a celebratory moment.
If the scene didn't specifically feature Megan Thee Stallion who, as an artist, is well known for twerking, I might feel differently. It seemed to sexualize them, squatting booty shakes to keep the teenage boys watching.
So, it’s acceptable because an artist who is well known does it is featured in the episode? Let’s hope there’s no episode where Jennifer is shown drugging men and stealing their money because Cardi B was in the episode and doing it. XDIf the scene didn't specifically feature Megan Thee Stallion who, as an artist, is well known for twerking, I might feel differently.
Would you be as upset if it were two guys celebrating by messing around shadow boxing each other? Because it could be argued that encourages violence. So, it’s acceptable because an artist who is well known does it is featured in the episode? It was a joke, RM. I even included an XD at the end of my post. Maybe I should use an emoji so to avoid confusion. My bad.Would you be as upset if it were two guys celebrating by messing around shadow boxing each other? Because it could be argued that encourages violence.
The scene was two women in an office celebrating a new contract. It was in context.
I wasn't a huge fan of that scene and didn't think it added much to the story but it was harmless.
I don't know what XD means. It was a joke, RM. I even included an XD at the end of my post. Maybe I should use an emoji so to avoid confusion. My bad.
It’s a sideways laughing face. It’s this if I had used the emoji version:I don't know what XD means.
Gotcha. Thanks. It’s a sideways laughing face. It’s this if I had used the emoji version:![]()

Many styles of dancing do....Don’t know who she is, or what twerking is, so to me, it looked like sexualized women.
Thank you sir! I tell her that she will be raised the way my generation was not this new one.At 15 my daughter and her friends call it the M She U.You're raising her right, sir.![]()
Lol I had to google her as I have never heard of her as well.Man she appears to be a great role model for girls...Don’t know who she is, or what twerking is, so to me, it looked like sexualized women.
She tripled her net worth in 2 years, yet still gives millions to organizations that help feed people, provide assistance to poor communities, and animals... but she does a dance that offends western parochial views of female sexuality, so she's a bad role model...Lol I had to google her as I have never heard of her as well.Man she appears to be a great role model for girls...

"...twerking isn’t new. In many West African cultures, it was an expression of joy and celebration performed at family gatherings and weddings. One blogger recalls seeing older women in her predominantly West African church go to the front of the church and twerk if a certain song of praise was sung. There, it was not a sexual thing; it was a form of worship."
Wow that’s sad the western parochial views of her are negative.I sure am glad western media is like 4th or 5th on my watch list for entertainment. If she gives back then I still say she is a good role model, one in which I won’t waste a thought on.She tripled her net worth in 2 years, yet still gives millions to organizations that help feed people, provide assistance to poor communities, and animals... but, she, she does a dance that offends western parochial views of female sexuality, so she's a bad role model...
Western society has a lot of growing to do in terms of moral panic over anything remotely resembling female sexuality. I'm not surprised at the reaction, just disappointed. She tripled her net worth in 2 years, yet still gives millions to organizations that help feed people, provide assistance to poor communities, and animals... but, she, she does a dance that offends western parochial views of female sexuality, so she's a bad role model...
Because celebrations and weddings never involve anything to do with sex?
From the same article:
"twerking. This sexual and provocative dance move has taken the world by storm."
"Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary, which defines it as “sexually suggestive dancing characterized by rapid, repeated hip thrustsView attachment 1613473 and shaking of the buttocks especially while squatting.” But twerking isn’t new. In many West African cultures, it was an expression of joy and celebration performed at family gatherings and weddings"
Not from the article:
Because celebratory events typically resulted in African pizza parties and binge-watching seasons of Friends, no sex involved!.
I mean, really, how is a stork gonna be able to accompliash ANYTHING with the woman thrusting her hips like that!?!?!?!
***SHEESH***
Is this the same writer who claims animal aren't injured in hunting parties?
Yup, nothing sexual to see here, move along
Once again, please note the sarcasm
Hypocrisy being exposed always makes me laugh. Thanks for that and the good sarcasm.Because celebrations and weddings never involve anything to do with sex?
