Sure! I would like to see the Aztec pattern and pearlescent colors better blended..more subtle but really shine.

Andy Preston has some YouTube videos building the MP enterprise and his painting is flawless! It’s a whole series of parts! Here is part 7!

Which does not surprise me since the Refit seems like the most beloved design in the ST Universe. Plus there are a ton of people who missed out on the TOS and combine that with the people who regretted not signing up or who got refunds and we got a ton of enthusiasm for this project!!!

We could be looking at record numbers here!

It's not just the love of the Refit design.

Playmates did every ship but the Refit back in the 90s during the fantastic Star Trek Playmates days. I have them all. I still can not believe they never did the Refit.

Diamond select was your only option for us mere mortals who do not have the skill to do the insane paint job on this thing.

MR did TOS Enterprise. A prebuilt no light TOS Enterprise in 1/350 was also released. So much has been done, in some cases to death, but that darn Refit has always been neglected.

I think it has more to do with those who either skipped out or returned their TOS and then saw the resale values on eBay. I can almost guarantee the interest in this one is all due to the resale value of the TOS. People will be buying more than one for sure. It definitely won't be as rare as the TOS.

I wonder why. High end makers like Qmx and the recent Artisan Line from FE have released really high end Refits costing tens of thousands. But nothing for us poor folk and the Refit is most likely the the most beloved ship in ST history.

TOMY has taken over the everyman replicas…under a grand. Can’t ask anymore than that.

Very true. I also think they saw how happy we were as some regretted not getting or rescinding their purchase. The whole controversy was way overblown and people overreacted. Now this their chance for redemption. Thank Chris and his team for that.

But there were plenty of people who didn’t even know about the TOS project. TOMY HAD such poor PR. Those people I feel bad for. Diehard Trek fans totally left unawares. And the aftermarket has priced most of them out. People asking if anyone has extras for sale. That could have been avoided.

Haha. Yeah. I was definitely considering returning it. But then remembered other times I didn't purchase a collectable because they were not perfect and they ended up being worth much more later. So kept it and happy i did. It's not perfect. But unique for sure.

Reply from TOMY . The base will be die-cast metal. Very sturdy to support a model weighing over 20lb!
We have also been told that the nacelle lights will be diffused in the production model, to eliminate the hot spots you see in the photos of the prototype.

Good news! Man this will be one heavy replica! If people don’t buy this they are missing out! Feel bad for those that can’t afford it!
 
We will be setting a goal at the outset of the campaign and the TOMY team has no intention of changing that initial goal. -Valerie
