TOMY reported on their FB page that they’re working on this area.
“There *will* be changes from what you see in the photos and videos of the prototype and the final replica, and our team already has a list of things that are likely to be tweaked/improved (for instance, the shape of forward edge of where the nacelle pylons meet the secondary hull will be revised to replicate the studio model).

“I'll change my wording going forward to be more clear - the prototype *will* change but as for the design of the product itself (and accessories), that's locked in. So we're unable to make changes like the overall base design or adding a pod, etc., but what you see in the images is not the final design (the prototype is actually plastic but the final replica will be die-cast and plastic). Details like certain colors, decal placements, and other elements will be tweaked/updated for accuracy. As always, any changes and the final design will have to go through licensor approval.
The prototype is simply the best representation of what backers can expect at this point in the process, but we already planning to make tweaks/improvements to the final design.
With feedback, we just want to be clear that the overall product design cannot be changed based on feedback (mostly this means elements can't be added at this point). So we still welcome feedback, especially on things like the campaign itself and what info you'd like to see more of, but we just want everyone to understand that we likely will not be able to make (substantial) changes to the product design based on new user suggestions and ideas. -Laura”

Hi, I bought 2 of the original Enterprises, and I did not have to join Facebook. I am very happy that you have decided to go ahead with the refit, I intend to buy at least one. Is there a way to get the Facebook information with out joining Facebook? I just want to be kept up to date, I don't need to add comments.

If you’ve registered you should get their email updates like the last time. FB is just a way to participate in the Q&A with TOMY and get additional information and pictures that may not be in the email updates.

Because the scale of the D presents such an obvious problem, I think a solution they should consider would be not to match the scale of the first two releases, but to instead match the size of them. Aim for roughly 32 inches long. Then there's still some form of cohesion in their appearances next to each other, even if they're not in scale. It would still be a bit wide but that's certainly more manageable than 6 feet long at 1/350 haha
If they instead just picked a totally arbitrary size that would create an itch in my brain
