A little frustrating, but a 4 month delay is digestible to get it right, any more delays after that would be troublesome.
Only rumors. They've got to make sure this project is a success. If they screw this up and make people unhappy you can kiss any next large ship projects goodbye.Any word on their next large ship project?
Me too.“We are really sorry to inform you of this but, due to critical revisions to the tooling the ship date has slipped a bit to October 2023“.
I wish they would have told us what changes were needed.
I wish they would more concise details on delays other than retooling.
It's possible the tooling in this case may not refer to changes to the "tooling model" but changes to the actual manufacturing tooling. As in, the custom tools necessary for the manufacturing machines to spit these parts out. Trials may have demonstrated difficulty with manufacturing good parts consistently so they would need to assess the fault and then revise their process, which could push manufacturing back. If that's it, then there is nothing interesting to report to the customers about it.“We are really sorry to inform you of this but, due to critical revisions to the tooling the ship date has slipped a bit to October 2023“.

I think that would be a good call, to keep the "camera" side as pristine as possible long-term.I’m okay with delays and waiting. I want the end result to be as perfect as possible.
Perhaps the retooling is to move the screw holes and plugs to the other side of the secondary hull.
Until then—My only reason for disappointment is it delays the announcement/release of THE REFIT ENTERPRISE...LOL...hope you're reading TOMY...LOL.
In one of their updates I thought they mentioned that all holes would be filled !I think that would be a good call, to keep the "camera" side as pristine as possible long-term.
Wow! I appreciate you using a picture of my 1:350 Enterprise Refit as your AVATAR! Great taste!Looks like someone cut my name off!In one of their updates I thought they mentioned that all holes would be filled !
Correct, yes they did. What some people are worried about is the potential for temperature expansion/contraction to start exposing cracks/gaps in those areas over a longer period of time, since whatever they use to smooth over the holes won’t be the same material as the metal body. Which is why people would prefer that stuff to be on the opposite side, matching the actual filming model’s “ugly” side, and so that such a thing could never happen on its “filming” side.In one of their updates I thought they mentioned that all holes would be filled !
That’s nice! But no. I’d rather have something like this! LolUntil then—
Looks nice
