Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

12 Pocket Black Knife Roll (1066-12/B) - Knife Luggage :: Messermeister Products

This is the 12 pocket on the website. Looks like dealer sites never updated their pics. This is bad. The stripe COULD have started light blue though. Maybe it was dirt?

Pitbull, how does it open up? Is it the same as the older model? Is it the same flap with the pouches and zippers? I can deal with the White Logo and Light Blue line if I have too.

Don't forget that often times 'found' items are altered a bit to look unique on screen. It is possible the bag was altered to not show the company logo so well, as well as toning down the blue line which can be done with dye or an airbrush.
As for the kill knife I am pretty sure I was told once that it is custom designed. If you guys are looking for a run of them we may have to look into having them made through a custom metal shop somewhere.

I don't know Jimmy, I think this is a case of an older model being advertised as new. The one in the pic on the dealer sites looks to be exact as the one Dexter uses as he exits the car, yellow logo and all.

As far as the Kill Knife, I am definitely in on getting one from a metal shop if anyone knows anyone out there who can do it.

I just want some guys here to stop stressing over looking for the knife - it's custom.
I can look into having some made...but I don't work with metal so I would have to find a shop that specializes is this sort of thing.
We have to agree on dimensions. Not sure if I can get those without burning bridges so I am just going to play it safe.
So far, I agree it is a combo of stainless steel and aluminum.

Oh yes, I agree with you on the knife being custom. I think the overall length is 10"-12". (The large Bone Saw to the right is 12")

Maybe we can scale it by looking at the blade on the 6" chef knife next to it? I'd say the handle is 6"-7".

The bread knife in the above picture has a 8" blade. I'd say the Kill Knife's blade is about 7"

If everyone is willing to work with me and call off the search, I just made a few phone calls and I believe I can get a very nice replica made:love
I can't say I will be able to get the 100% exact dimensions from the source, which is why I want everyone to agree on the design first.
Price? Who knows - I have to look into what it will cost to make them and how many we will have made.
At the least, I would invest money into having 50 made, maybe more if the price is right.
Let me see what more information I can find out. Had I known there was an interest in this prop I would have already looked into having them made a long time ago.

YES!!! That is great news Jimmy. Hopefully you can get the info. I like the design in the pics I posted above.

you should be able to get really accurate dimensions based off some of the screen caps, assuming you buy one of the known knives to use as reference.

What exactly does this statement mean?

Meaning, if we can determine an overall length (which is all I really need) I can hopefully put forth the initial financial investment to have a run made. The more pictures the better.
I will be meeting up with a local metal fabricator sometime this week and would like to have some rough dimensions and diagrams to show him before I can start an interest thread and get some rough price numbers down.

Do we have 100% certainty that it's not a found item, or that it's a combination of found items?

All the theorizing in the world is meaningless, in my mind. Heck, for years we KNEW that the obi-wan saber had a sink drain and a motorcycle grip as parts. :) Until we get hard, documented, firsthand confirmation from someone who worked on the show, I'm not quite willing to give up.

My sources are quite reliable.

Sounds good GF. I figured you would be the man to step in on this thread.
Last thing I want though is for there to be an issue with your involvement.

Truth is, I wouldnt mind having the kill knife myself and if I can re-invest some of the money we make with our Trophy Boxes into having them made, then I would like to take a crack at it.
First person to get me a detailed diagram/cad drawing gets a knife at cost.:love

Dammit! If only I knew how to draw on the computer thingy.

LOL

I've been working on dimensions to make a CAD model all weekend!

Needs to take the back burner today though since it's Valentine's Day and all.

I have 2 kids --a 5 year old & 4 month old-- and we've been together 8 years. Valentine's Day is just a regular Monday. Aggravating, bloody, and exhausting.

I have a feeling I will eventually feel that way.

Anyway, just a quick and dirty 5 minute photoshop. I used the picture of the 10 inch spatula from Global's website.

The proprtions are somewhat off, but I also used a picture that was seriously distorted.

Anyone that can get HD screengrabs should post them. I only had showtime when seasons 1-3 aired. I have since moved and no longer pay for the premiums so I have yet to see season 4-5... there could be some good shots I haven't seen.

As far as the Messermeister bag goes... this bag looks exact to me:

I would be willing to bet that the prop department colored over the blue line and white Messermeister logo with a Sharpie. It gets done quite often, and we're lucky that they didn't just cover it up with electrical tape.
