Denuo Novo (only) New and existing products

I received the Denuo Novo Rey Quarterstaff. The 3 parts come wrapped in bubble wrap. The weathering on the staff is pretty good. The seam from the mold is obvious and fairly rough in some spots. I was concerned with how the screw connection is obviously off center. It was easy enough to adjust the rotation of the parts to get them lined up. When assembled the staff is about 6 feet and 3/8 inches long. It is pretty weighty. About the last foot of each end can flex a little. Most of the details are pretty rigid. The large fins about a foot from the top are the most flexible part.

The strap doesn't have much weathering. It attaches with leather like straps that snap together. It was challenging to get the snaps to snap because the leather like straps are barely long enough to wrap around the staff. I guess you don't want them loose and sliding around.

In the photos of the instructions, the staff looks curved, it isn't. That is just lens distortion.

Thanks for sharing ggriffaw. I'm still waiting on mine. Need to look for hi-res screen used prop images to compare when I get mine.

The threading on one of the pieces on mine was also off center like yours. So when it is assembled I can tell that it is off by 1/8". However, it's no longer noticeable once the sling is attached, as the snap-on leather strap covers it.

The foam feels very dense so I'm not really worried about warping anymore. I'm not sure how well the paint adheres to the foam. There are couple of spots where the weathered brown paint is wrinkled and it flakes right off from gently touching it.

For wall mounting it, a C-cell Maglite mount works well on the fabric section. I originally tried mounting it by the top ribbed section under the fins and it rubbed and flaked a little bit of paint off.

I could be wrong, but my guess is they place an attached threaded metal section into the mold and poor the rubber around it. If this is correct, it should be possible to line up the parts even if the threaded parts are not centered.

If you want something to mount the staff to the wall (horizontally) without any force gripping it causing the paint to flake, curtain rod mounts work great. I use these for a few of my lightsabers. It's perfect for Darth Maul's double bladed saber.

I noticed they've added a "Please allow 2-4 weeks for shipment of this item." disclaimer to specific in-stock helmets. It's only on a few items. I'm glad they're doing that now instead of leaving me wondering why an in stock order hasn't shipped.

While I love the idea of a customizable helmet kit, there are less expensive options that actually have lineage to screen-used pieces…

That looks terrible :( Her Salvage helmet is nice but that was with the prior company .

Agreed. Even repainting any of the existing Hasbro X-Wing helmets is not a bad way to go and a third of the price. I have an extra Wedge helmet I picked up on clearance for exactly that reason. Just trying to decide on the deco.

Tell you what though, it comes with a decent amount of waterslides and the ear donuts. Now that alone isn't a huge selling point, but I was thinking of getting ear donuts for my Far Away Creations X-Wing, and I've been quoted 100+$ from a few places now *just* for those donuts.

With that in mind, it might end up being cheaper to get a DN X-Wing than an FAC, if you live in Europe. Sure, other Euro fan makers would be cheaper, but I don't think it's a horrible option altogether. I wouldn't simply dismiss it for this, especially if you don't live in the US :D Just another option on the market. I think it's great to have options!

I'm not thrilled they went with the TLJ helmet for this, just like Hasbro did with their Black Series Cardinal. He defected before TFA, so he wouldn't have this version of bucket. DN still offers the Premiere Edition TFA helmet, so I may give them a nudge about this... They'll be getting tired of my helpful pointers by now, I think.
