Definitive christoipher Reeve Superman bust 1:1

First of all this looks very nice ;)

Don't want to steal another guys thunder here or rain on his parade but found this quite interesting...

..:Action Costumes:..

- This Bust had been made using one of the two Mold Casts of Mr Christopher Reeve made for one of the original Movies. So the proportions of this bust are the most accurate you can find of the real actor. From that cast we sculpt all the other parts of the head and corrected and put some life to the face itself.
- The Cast of the Bust was made in Very Durable Fiber Glass.
- The Eyes are High Grade Professional made prosthetic eyes specially made for this character.
- The Eyelashes are fake ones, at the upper eyelids we put complete ones and at the lower eyelids we add one by one. .
- The paint had been made by a professional Airbrush Painter from the film Industry.
- The Costume come perfectly attached to the bust and brings the little upper part of the chest and cape emblems. They are made based on the 80´s style costume we sell.
- The Base had been made in wood and painted in black, it comes with a plaque that says “The Man of Steel 78 – 87” made in a glossy metal.
- The Sculpt and complete project had been made by Sebastian Colombo & Sebastian Molchasky Sebas Colombo is a very well-known Artist and Superman Specialist. Sebastian Molchasky is a SFx Artist that work in Films, TV Shows & Commercials.

Just feel Sebs getting a bit to much credit for this piece especially since its actually based on a Lifecast and not sculpted totally from scratch - which as we all know is considerablely more difficult ;)

:rolleyes

One wonders why Seb didn't let on he used a lifecast in the first place.... soaking up the praise as if he'd actually sculpted this bust from scratch.

why is it that using a life cast seems to be looked upon by some as being as bad a recasting ??? I just dont get it ?
It's a tool at the end of the day and it's the finished work that we want to see as good as it can be.
I dont understand why you should have any issue just because people have taken time to post on his thread.

Seriously that is inspiring. I don't usually go for busts as they look a little untrue to the real deal. THIS looks so real. I'm just gobsmacked.

I'm not critiquing the fact Seb used a life cast... Just the fact he didn't tell anyone on the outset and obviously acted as if he'd sculpted it from scratch... That's my only issue!

Truly amazing ! that's some serious talent you have there.

What??? Talent is sculpting something from nothing

He did, most of us know this!

Most of us "DIDN'T know actually!!! why else is everyone saying, "Wow this is the best Reeves SCULPT on the planet" when its been found out that Sebs been basking in talents he doesn't appear to have. Just because I'm the first to speak out doesn't make me the bad guy when I'm sticking up for sculptors amongst us that toil to achieve the perfect likeness for a lump of clay and dozens of photographs! This is glory by Deception!!

Agree with cyber an 100%.... That has been my issue all along. It was clear from day one this was a lifecast, but the guy was taking all the credit in the world. Look at fester and the joker he and Kevin are working on. We all know fester is an amazing sculptor, look at his Daniel Craig, but he came right out and said that they are working from a life cast of Heath for their new project. Obviously, the most accurate yet. Accurate because its from a life cast.

And to fetters credit, his Daniel Craig sculpt looks like a life cast. I can usually tell right away when an artist on this forum has used a life cast. In fact, I knew the second I saw their new joker sculpt that it was a life cast.
Back to point, I agree with cyber man, this guy has taken way too much credit for this reeve. He sculpted his ears.... Who is going to look at the ears and say " I don't think those are his ears."
And if any member here does, the next words out of their mouth should be " hello clarice!"
