Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

Edit: Issue 40 has the revised canopy and "glass" to fit it. Glass to fit the old canopy comes later, if you want to use the old canopy. Personally, I never understood how the original was wrong in the first place as I'm not super into accuracy, and as I understand it, the revised canopy still isn't correct, FWIW.

It's a very tiny detail an the new one is more accurate but just a little and still not "perfect". I would have been perfectly happy with the old one. I think it's cool they tried to fix it but if your gonna do that do it right.

I wish the glass was better. It looks terrible but to put good windows in it would actually be cool. If your going for the filming model then no glass but if your trying to build the Falcon itself then the glass would be better but it looks so bad.

I was thinking of trying to cut and trim the glass pieces or using plexi glass.

I am torn because my entire collection theme is a mini Lucas Archives which means filming model but I really am going for a Falcon itself, not all the filming model stuff.

Im leaving the plastic glass out. Its not original, will collect dust and cloud up/yellow over time. Besides it will obscure all the detail in the cockpit.

It's the hilight of my month when I get a shipment! That's why I get so mad and damn worked up when they are late! To answer your question, in Great Britain you are able to get them weekly from a store, but they call it something weird like a "news agent". Whatever that is!

Happy New a Year my fellow Uber Nerds!

Here in the UK a news agents is like a small shop/store where you can buy newspapers, groceries etc. I get my Falcon mag weekly from a larger store called Easons that mainly sells magazines. Happy new year all!

How will you do this and will it be very expensive? I'd be interested in going that route as well.

For my Fine Molds Falcon, I just cut some clear acetate to shape, a semi circle that bends to a cone, and inserted that. As it was a tight fit, it didn't even need gluing, the tension from bending it holds it in place..

cheers

Michael

not to go OT but some of the best model windows Ive ever seen came with my crows nest proteus, it was some kind of optical grade plastic

Just an FYI for US customers. After being charged for pack 12 without receiving 11, I talked to an agent today and they said that pack 11 is now in stock and will be ready to ship shortly along with pack 12. Coming at the same time, but in different boxes.

That's funny because I talked to two different representatives today and neither one mentioned that. We shall see.

A little help please. I did a bulk purchase and started a supscription a week or two ago. I got a box with packs 1-4 in it last week. Today I got 5 boxes. I open the boxes and discover packs 9-12 and 21-24 missing. The boxes are marked 1-8...boxes. Boxes 1, 3 and 6 are on the outer rim.

Here is my question: When I call them up and tell them about the missing 'packs/boxes', are they pretty good about shipping replacements pronto? Or do these things come from italy/china? The return label says Tenesse

They are very good at sending replacements. Just call them and tell them you are missing those.

While my #1 from the subscription in Germany did not arrive yet, I saw it in a local shop, and it had the "worse" hull part in it like in the UK edition. This is a real bummer for me. If they have the "corrected" parts, why do they start the build with the "bad" parts again? I still hope that my box arrives with the better part, but that seems to be not realistic from other reviews online...

I also started this abo today. But when I read here that they use the same bad parts for the german release I´m out.
How can I identify the bad parts from the good ones?

I would like to know as well. My first 4 packets are attached to cardboard, like you would expect to see on a European magazine stand. The rest are in plastic bags with 'Issue X' on them. Please post up a list of what parts have been upgraded and how to tell.

What is the current packet? Im up to #32.

In germany the abo started with #1 this month from what I know.I ordered it online and I pay "on account"...so I pay after I have the parts in hand.;)

I think this model looks very nice with all the functions and the size of the real prop.So I think the price is ok when its finished. But I want the "good stuff"for my money!

And thanks for the link Rahn420.

I like that De Agostini wants to make better parts for replacement to creat the best replica.I really hope they will do it also for us germans.:unsure
