Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

I haven't had an issue with this kit in the least , nor have I ever had y negative feelings this thing is BADA$$ in every sense of the word !!!

It's so good it's like a buffet brunch at a five star hotel, then a pizza, with a side of chinese food, topped off with more pizza, and a big pile of junk food, all accompanied by lots of ice cold Coca Cola, and finally a good steak and lobster dinner. After,... a good cup of coffee and a cigarette. I quit smoking 7 years ago but a man can dream.

It's that good.

Not surpringly I need to lose weight.

So who is going to paint my guns up for me? I have no painting or modelling skills whatsoever, nor do I any supplies or airbrush. I live an hr+ from a hobby shop, so yeah..

Let me put it this way... I regret never getting the MR Falcon when it was released... I regret not getting the Fine Molds Falcon when it was released... I regret not getting the Hasbro Legacy Falcon and even had the opportunity to grab it when it was only $150 at Walmart... But after receiving my parts in the mail today and seeing all the glorious detail... it makes every model I've ever built in my life look like Legos and I definitely do not regret getting this beauty. The attention to detail is unprecedented. It surpasses the MR Falcon and the Fine Molds Falcon by light years! If you've ever regretted not getting a kit for whatever reason, don't pass this one up! $60 a month is less then a phone bill... less then a light bill... and you can probably do without going to Burger King 5 times a month. If you think you can do it... do it! If you have to convince your wife, tell her this... Baby, I love you, but this isn't a toy... this is an investment that will double in a few years. If that don't convince her, tell her that if she lets you get it, you'll do that thing she always wants you to do more often!

Probably more like, "if you let me get this kit I won't ask you to do that thing you don't like", but yeah you got the idea.

Btw, I got my box today as well. Took 2 days from the time I received the shipping email.. Serious about someone painting my quad lasers up for me and drilling out the barrels.

PM me if you can help a Brother out! :)

Really excited about getting this. Placed my order on the 6th and then nothing. No attempt to charge no other emails besides the confirmation. Called this morning and they are looking into it. Hope to be on my way soon!

We, like many others here, have received our first shipment. It actually arrived yesterday but both of us worked late shifts. Hence I was unable to post that it arrived.

I am trying to wait on building anything until I get the entire kit or a good portion anyways. I want to wait as not only do I want to see what we get, but also because I want to see what aftermarket parts become available. There are a lot of good aftermarket parts already available so I can only imagine what else is in store (now that the model is available here in the US).

I, like a few others here, am hopeful that I can place a second order sometime in the near future so we can have a second kit. Partially for investment but mostly just how cool it would be to have two falcons :D

For anyone interested...
Our first shipment was shipped by UPS and the shipper is Perseus Distribution from Jackson TN.
Our tracking number shows that it shipped on the 13th. We received email shipping confirmation on the 14th and it arrived to us on the 17th.
Shipping weight is 4 lbs.

Not sure why we can not be provided the tracking number from DeAgostini upon actual shipment of the package. The only reason we know our tracking number is because the package is physically in our hands. Hopefully this is something DeAgostini can resolve for future shipments. Not a must but it would be appreciated.

I am doing the same , just laying them in a pile and after 25 issues , then I may decide to start....just hate to try and do small increments and want to continue and have to stop.....so I will continue to let the pile build for the next several months, then open them up and run with it !!!

I feel the same way... with all the after market parts being made (I know of a few that I would like to get my hands on) I wanna see what's gonna happen in the near future before I start tearing into this baby! This is a kit I wanna take my time on and make sure I do it right. I know there's a bunch of ideas running around my brain right now and I want to make sure I have a firm grasp on how I'm going to impliment them before I start "experimenting" on the real thing!

Thank you sir, I totally agree....this by no means ...will I be in no hurry !!!....glad to see someone is thinking the same as me too !!!...LOL...this is one thing that deserves patience and no room for error. This kit once finished we be truly unbeatable !!! Even the MR wont come close to this with the amount of detail ( interior wise )...that this will and forever be the ultimate Millennium Falcon !!! LrdSatyr8....this is something that is magnificent and very well planned and executed. I could not be happier with the results , of all this research and development !!!

Well, nobody asked, but here's my plan:D.-

I really think that I'm going to stay away from most of the aftermarket parts, & here's why- They're TOO good.

I know that this Falcon is going to be extremely detailed, but not quite what I would consider EXTREMELY-SUPER detailed. See the flooring in the crew compartment, for example. From just looking at the quad-laser that I have in my hands, & comparing it with what I can get from the excellent 3D guys on here, there's no comparison. To my eye, though, the aftermarket guns would look out of place. Almost would make the rest of the model look cheaper, in a way.

Aesthetically, I think the detail we get kinda fits together in a way that doesn't draw attention to, or from, any particular part. That's just me, & I'm sure that if I were planning to replace a ton of the parts, I'd feel differently, but all my hull plating matches in both weathering & base color, so I'm just going to do some 'griming up' to the whole thing after she's done. Now, I'm not just slapping things on as they come. I've filed the mold seams & drilled out the holes for the quad, & I'll paint it & weather it with pastels (First time trying this technique).

That being said, I can't wait to see what you guys that are going above & beyond on this thing are going to do.;):thumbsup

I agree , not saying that I wouldn't add a few details to it if needed, not sure at this point having only 11 issues ordered , but from what I see...the flooring is about the only thing that I would consider swapping out....everything else , to me anyway , seems perfect....little add ons here or there...but , still I want to wait until I see what all is available and see whats out there being produced , before I make any decisions on doing so. So much might be reworked down the road with more detail, and if so...I will address that accordingly without merely jumping in and realize....damn't I should have waited...LOL, that's merely my patience talking and knowing , that we have so many capabilities, out there now....some may be better, but ultimately , I don't see much that has impressed me with dramatic detail as of yet , to steer away from the present condition I see this kit already has !!! JMO

Well after seeing some of Tony's awesome Shapeways pieces, I know for a fact there are several I'll be getting from him down the line...

1) The interior cockpit (Especially the new backwall and the cockpit consoles... something about just slapping a sticker on a piece like this just doesn't suit me. If it's gonna be detailed, I want it DETAILED and Tony pulls thru with buttons on the console and wall and side walls, you name it... might even have to put the dice back up there!) Still debating on the cockpit cone. A little pricey but definitely detailed out.

2) The Rear Seats of the Cockpit - The ones that come with the kit are fine, don't get me wrong but seem to be lacking the details that I want to see.

3) The interior flooring - I want to create a "pit" section with lights and be able to see them thru the flooring. The solid flooring that comes with the kit just won't allow for any of that.

4) The interior console - The console that comes with the kit seems very simplistic. Tony's looks like the real thing. http://www.shapeways.com/product/VR4AND43R?li=search-results-2&optionId=56077264

5) The new detailed game table - The one that comes with the kit althou nice is missing alot of detail, Tony comes thru again with that. http://www.shapeways.com/product/F7UUSWLN3?li=search-results-1&optionId=55961300

6) The boxes/crates/tools sets - Tony went above and beyond here. The tools especially. I'm sure once added they will make it look even more authentic.

Tony has done some amazing work here and I'm surprised DeAgostini hasn't snatched up to do some of these pieces for everyone! Depending on what else Tony cooks up will depend on what else I get from him. I'm sure he's working on the backwall behind the game table, can't wait to see that. But I also know we're talking a couple hundred bucks in parts from Shapeways, but then again, if I can get a few piece s at a time I'll be happy! I'm sure without realizing it I have just become a spokesman for Tony's awesome work, but then again, he deserves it.

No words pal for your incredible support!!!

I'm a little bit ashamed, but I give to you many, many thanks. I'm working hard to get the best Falcon, with the best details. All of you helped me a lot to improve my parts with your suggestions and hints.

Really, a big thumb up for you guys!

Seems like the ranks are growing - I just subscribed to £900 quids worth of parts arriving over 2 years :) but what can I say? - This ship is a sci-fi classic and I have been seriously 'umming an' arring for quite a while weather to go for it. - Yesterday I was moochin' through my old links collection and came upon this sight - Straight to th Studio scale and this thread - I was guided by the force I'm tellin' ya :) - I'm currently up yo post 24 but been re-directed to datube a good few times :).

So I'm in - got my email that my subscription has been accepted and joined here to post my story.

I know this is a "Falcon" thread and I hope not to offend anyone but I intend to build an ass yet unregistered CEC YT-1300 f/p -- In other words not YT-1300 492727ZED .
There's no saying that she won't become Falcon but I intend to build a diorama "Under Construction" in the ship yard so a long time before ANH or ESB- I have lot's of research to do but it can still remain canon and allow me to add or subtract pieces as I choose - After all Falcon was heavily modified.

Great seeing some awesome projects on this thread and I hope to contribute in the very near future.

Sincere regards.

Dave - now going back 30 or so pages to continue where I couldn't resist :)

May the force be with you.
