Deagostini Falcon. Anyone seen this?

Unfortunately if the frame on the upper hull is anything like the lower, it's going to be really difficult to add vent detail under those vents (a.k.a. vent fans). It would be awesome if deagostini would design the frame around those vents, but I don't think that's going to happen.

...yes it does appear that the frame as well as the radial stiffening ribs will indeed run under each of the vents, as you can see in the images below...one interesting thing is that frame piece number TF-33 seems to be an open space (perhaps for access to the engine lights??)

...one other interesting fact is that the rear engine deck looks like it will be built in five sectoins (parts TP-21 thru TP-25) which actually seem to cut across some of the vents...it may be that the vents themselves will all be seperate plant-on details...

There is a possibility to have vent details under the vent grills. The hight of the vent plus the thickness of the hull plates should be enough for a tight build. I admit it will be tight.

Edit spelling. Must remember glasses when typing :(

Its nice...but has not the screenaccurate holes and artefacts on the backplate. If you wanna build it like the real modelkit its not accurate.
I hope somebody can make a 3D printed backplate that matches the Original.
I think they used parts of a airplane or submarine modellkit or something like that?:unsure

Yeah I was thinking the same thing... I'm sure that I may actually be able to come up with something that will work in the confines that might actually "glue on" the surface yet allow the engine fans underneath and the grills on top.

I'm looking for a noob-friendly fiber-optics kit. Even of I will use the PE cockpit (and I most probably will) with the lighting that is provided by DeAgo, I'll still want to have randomly flashing multicolored lights in the pit and the console. Bit I've never used fiber-optics.

Do I eed a board with different-colored LEDs, or do the fibers come colored? What board would be needed for different lights to flash and swell randomly (as opposed to a fixed ever-repeating pattern) ?
So many questions...

That said, I'll worry less about the rest of the interior, as I will probably display it closed.

No fiber optics for me. Paragrafix for the hold and cockpit and led for all the landing lights, forward lights, etc.

I really never had any idea how many landing lights this darn thing had on it until someone pointed it out in Eco base.

I have a fiber optic nightmare ahead of me with my Randy Cooper Star Destroyer.:eek:facepalm:cry:wacko

Do a search on evilbay for AMT/Ertl Fiber Optic kit. It comes with this really nice and handy finger drill that I still use for drilling fiber holes. It comes with about 3 feet of fibers and a bunch of other little cups/plugs and some bulbs (came out before LEDs were popular). It's worth the price just for the drill in my opinion but it's how I got started in Fiber Optics and you can always get more fiber from the Fiber Optic Store online.

Oh common Tommy... don't wimp out now with all the work you've put into it so far! :) LOL

From the "Build the Millenium Falcon Build diaries" FB Group

"UK was Jan 2015
France August? 2015
USA March 2015
France August? 2015
Germany/Italy/Spain Jan 2016"

I still think it would be a good idea to make a Germany-Italy-Spain falcon group, as we are all receiving the same issues in the same time, and we may share our questions, problems, instead of mixing it with UK and USA that are already far ahead of us.

Just my 2 cents.

Thank you so much for the picture Roland! it seems that I got a correct version.. how odd is that?

I'm in the United States and just got #1 and it's the wrong part too. This company really needs to get their act together.

I will have to man up and do it for my Randy Cooper but honestly I don't see where I would need it on the Deago. My Cockpit and Nav computer will be Paragraflix and the engines, landing lights will be LED/bulbs, etc.

I looked on Ebay. There is not one now but I saw some past sales of that AMT kit you mentioned. I think I will get that kit to get my feet wet for my Randy Copper Star Destroyer.

Have they stopped selling individual back issues in the UK ? I checked their site but could only find the binders and subscriptions now.

I have managed to lose a part and was hoping to get another copy of the specific issue to replace it.

I know thy will replace parts missing from orders but do not believe they have a replacement part service for parts lost by the builder.
