I have been hoping that Bandai would release one but as time passes that is looking unlikely as time passes. But with my luck, as soon as I buy a Randy Cooper SD, Bandai will release one.

Nope... only in France! So I guess they're reissuing all those top bits from the first few issues? Sure, I guess...
I built it the Cooper SD and it makes me do a double take every time I pass by the room it's in. It's beautiful! The most time consuming thing with this model is the miles of fibers it takes to light it. I would definitely light it even if you think it may be overwhelming to take on. It's worth it in the end. Make sure you do some kind of framework inside for support also. With that much resin, I can't see how it wouldn't have some sort of sagging over time. Randy includes some internal support, but the problem is that it's resin also. I used my own and his just to be safe. Just my two cents.

It's a really nice model. I hope to get one some day. Dtssyst has built this model. I am sure that he can offer you some tips if you ask.

Hey Tom... that's gonna be a massive undertaking. Will take ya awhile to built. I love Randy Cooper's designs. Even thou they aren't screen accurate they do look very detailed and pretty! That's gonna be a heavy sucker when its done with that much resin. I think I'm gonna wait for either the Bandai or DeAgo SD myself! Have fun with it thou!
That's usually my luck too... but I've been hearing rumors about a DeAgo 4foot SD so I guess we'll see!
OK... here's the moment of truth and I'm sure I'll get alot of flac for this... but... I've been busy modeling some figures for printing... still thinking of doing a bunch of others but for now, I've got 20 different figures designed but not quite ready for print yet. However, all are scaled to 1:43 to work with the DeAgostini Falcon. Here's a photo render of what I've got so far.

OK... here's the list I have so far... Chewie, 3PO, Obi-wan, Lando, Lobot, 3 different Bespin Guards, a Stormtrooper, Leia in 5 different outfits (ANH Robes, Hoth, Bespin, Yavin and Slave outfits), Luke in 3 different outfits (ANH, Jedi, and Yavin outfits), and Han in 3 different outfits (ANH, ESB, and ROTJ). I'm still working on a Hoth Stormtrooper and perhaps Vader, but not quite sure yet (maybe a hoth rebel as well).
Now... here's the big question for everyone. I could leave them all in a standard pose like this and print them up and have you the modeler cut the arms and legs and pose them the way you want OR (and here's the tricky part) I could pose each one myself and offer a different figure for purchasing in different poses... so if I want to make a standing or sitting pose, that would be two different parts to order! I'm going to let you all talk about it for awhile to make up my mind as to what I'll end up doing.
The way I personally see it is this... As long as they are in the scale needed, I can cut them up and pose them the way I want without having to buy 3 or 4 different ones in different positions because I may want the figure in a certain pose, but someone else will want it in another pose. That's just me... so what do you all think? Lemme know and I'll get back to working on a couple others and see what else I can come up with.
They look nice and promising, I run a figure manufacturing business for military modellers and as sculpting and casting is done in house I had considered some figures for my falcon. The big blocker has been that disney are likely to crucify any such pieces and manufacturers, especially as knights lost the license and it's probably up for sale. It's one thing offering parts for upgrades of an existing kit but here you are blantantly breaching copyright in the images they own. I don't want to burst the bubble but be prepared for a cease and desist letter that's all, if you are selling them that is.OK... here's the moment of truth and I'm sure I'll get alot of flac for this... but...
