Deadpool (Post-release)

I just got back from seeing it. I enjoyed it and the comedy in it but hopen they push the character character in the next movie.

You guys should really check out:
(Spoiler Alert to anyone who hasn't seen it yet)
www.denofgeek.us/books-comics/deadpool/238056/deadpool-movie-complete-guide-to-characters-and-marvel-references

It's an amazing collection of all of the references the movie makes.

Also, to those interested in what materials were actually used in different parts of the suit, please PM me.
I have a lot of behind the scenes information that I would love to share, but will not be doing so in the public forum for various reasons.

Thanks!

I feel sorry for the cab driver. You're Indian, you now have an injured man in your trunk that you kidnapped, and a duffel bag full of guns in the front seat.
Man are his insurance rates going to take a hit.

Also if serious, my friend and I agreed Tom Hardy as Cable...PLEASE.

There's been a huge push for Stephen Lang to be Cable. The man himself is very open to the idea.

Saw it, and thought it was pretty funny and awesome!

Things I hope for Deadpool 2:
1. Introduction of Death, Deadpool's other on-again-off-again girlfriend.
2. Introduction of the white and yellow text boxes and accompanying internal head voices.
3. Increasing of Deadpool's insanity to match the level he's at in the comics (could be the end result from the final fight in the first film when he got stabbed in the head. We saw that it invoked a hallucination. Who knows what else has come from that blade being in his head).
4. At least one scene showing Wade making a whole bunch of pancakes.
5. Showing a fight where we see how unpredictable Deadpool can be, even going as far as for him to pull out a weapon out of thin air ala Hammerspace (as he's been known to do such crazy things in the comics).
6. Hugh Jackman guest-starring as Wolverine, with a scene similar to this from the video game:

There's a pretty good theory that "Vanessa" in the movie is Death. She meets Wade on the day Weasel bet he would die. As soon as he proposes, he suddenly collapses in agony from the terminal cancer that is just as suddenly riddling his body out of nowhere, she seems awfully pissed when she sees him alive after the procedure, and Death is the only woman Deadpool has ever fought so hard to be with in the comics. I can't believe all of that is coincidence or sloppiness -- they know their Deadpool.

That is actually quite brilliant, but...

I read somewhere that Vanessa is based on a character from the comics who later becomes a powerful shapeshifter that Wade was dating and left behind so that she didn't have to see him die, before he went into the Weapon-X program, similar to how it played out in the movie. But I still think that's a brilliant idea. However, why would she be working at a strip joint if she were Death? It'd make sense that she'd actually disappear after Wade's supposed death since she would have thought she accomplished her task. Unless she could sense Wade was still alive and was putting up a front until she could confirm or deny his passing. That'd make a bit of sense.

Even so, I like that idea and could totally see that. Or...

We see Vanessa dying during the first act of the sequel and Death takes on her appearance as a means of seducing Wade, having to become obsessed with wanting to have him since she wants to take all life. And, of course, Wade tells Weasel and Blind Al that he's still dating Vanessa and they think he's gone completely bonkers because they know she's dead. Of course, towards the end of the film, Death drops the Vanessa façade for her true appearance, and Deadpool's like, "Okay, I'll admit. You're freakin' hot!" and falls in love with Death as she is, despite the fact that they can't be together because of Wade's inability to die.

A little late to this conversation, but in spite of the fact that I've generally given up on the whole superhero genre, I saw it, liked it, and will see the sequel.

Since Cable has been more or less confirmed for the sequel, (in which I'm calling the introduction of Hope Summers), it pretty much guarantees that X-Force movie. I can already see the members being Deadpool, Cable, Domino, Psylocke and Hope Summers. And if the people involved are trying to tie all the X-movies together and Fox makes attempts at salvaging the FF franchise, I'm going to predict that it's all going to lead to movies loosely based on the Onslaught and Onslaught Reborn sagas.

Pretty damn fun film all around, the best thing I can say about it is that it's the most expensive fan made film of all time! I saw it on a tuesday late showing, having less than 20 people in the theater, best time to see any movie in theaters imo. Would love a second viewing and can't wait for a sequel! "Deadpool: that sounds like a ***king franchise" yes indeed!

I really enjoyed the movie also and I hope that Fox realizes the reason why the movie was successful. I think it was great because it was true to the character. Marvel has realized this for a long time and I don't understand why Fox hasn't got it yet. It chills me to think that the lesson execs take away from this film is that we need to reboot the X-Men and have the characters break the fourth wall, curse a lot, and pop 3 jokes per minute.

I agree, except slightly on one thing: to me, the Deadpool in the film had the mouth, but was far from the personality of the comics. Hopefully, for the next film, they'll crank up his insanity to match how it is in the comics.

He's been Deadpool for about a year by the end of the film, I'm sure they have a lot in store as far as personality goes :thumbsup

Something kind of interesting I noticed about Deadpool screenings in Hong Kong while booking tickets for Batman V Superman recently. They have actually been showing two versions of Deadpool in HK. One is the full uncut category III (R Rating) and one is an edited category IIB (PG-13 Rating) with less swearing and toned down gore. Seems like a really cool way to keep the artistic vision of the R rated version while still offering the option and mass appeal of the PG-13 rating. Perhaps it is because in HK category III (R Rated) films are age 18+ only which I understand isn't the case in the US. Either way Deadpool has already made so much money it doesn't really matter but imagine how much more it would have made if they used that dual rating release system all over the world!
