Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - Password in First Post

Hello all, first off I just want to say thanks to Darkside because your pep files are amazing and the details are great.

Now, I'm extremely new to making suits and using pepakura, but I have great attention to detail and have been reading up throughout this thread and absorbing many of the posts to direct me in the creation and assembly of an Iron Man suit I'm building.

My first is directed to Darkside, I tried opening your helmet files with all your scaling options for the Mk 7, but when I tried to open it in designer it automatically switched me to viewer without giving me an option to input your password. Can you offer any assistance, or perhaps someone who has had this problem or knows something about why this is? I saw that you are a VERY busy man so I don't need this answer just from you, and any will help.

My second is directed towards JayCVenlo, what did you use to model your upper chest/neck piece for the mk 7? Did you use a pep file or did you just do that from scratch?

Now my third question is general, but are there any Mk 7 neck pep files out there? I didn't see any in Darkside's list.

Thank you upfront for any replies and responses to my questions.

Hey y'all. Everyones Suits look like they're coming along really well! Thanks everyone who has contributed to all these files for us! They're amazing. Just wondering though, I saw a few pics for the chest and back V2.. does anyone know when they'll be out or if they already are? The V2 chest looks exactly movie accurate and I wanted to add that to my suit.. Thanks again!

the V2 files have not yet been released. Darkside will release them all at once when he is done modeling the entire suit. he is currently taking a brake from modeling, for personal reasons. no one can say when the files will be released and that includes Darkside as well... we are all eagerly awaiting the return of the king Ooohh sorry, wrong movie reference :lol

Well, after lurking for months on end, while working on my own MKVII, thank you immensely darkside501st for your hard work and files, I have a question to pose to JayCVenlo. What did you use to fill in the elbow gaps on your arm. Whatever it is, it looks fantastic, and I'd love to know how you did it, if you're willing to share. Thanks.

Long time I haven't posted here! I'm working on the helmet and I'm going through it smoothly.

Its mostly Omarbous. But i did a lot of slicing and customizing to get it the way i wanted.
I made the black part (brace) completly from scratch.
The trick is to first make a frame out of aluminum strips 1cm wide, 1 a 2 mm thick. Bend 2 stripes (left/right) that fit over the curve of your shouldes from front to back. Then connect those 2 with a horizontal strip.

Hope this helps a little.

cool. don't suppose there's an eta update on the repulsors lol

Well, I got into a little trouble with delays on the first and second run... I don't want to do that again. So I am looking into having a manufacturer make the circuits for us. This calls for a redesigned circuit and a new board. So it will take some time to develop. I am also looking at a third run of my v1.2 circuits but I will be making them first and then selling them as I make them. That way nobody will get pissed that I took their money and am running into delays. Although, We have got the process down pat now so the third run probably wouldn't take nearly as long. Subscribe to that thread and I will post updates as I get them.

That sucks you're having such trouble with it. Hope you get it resolved the way you want. Do you think you'll have a run by April? that's when the comic expo is in Calgary. If not I'll work up something but I'd much prefer to utilize your far superior set.

Yeah, Not so much trouble with it as just unexpected delays. I will be doing another v1.2 run as soon as I can. Probably before April.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files

Hi,
I have a question!
I have downloaded Pepakura designer 3 and it works fine, but when I donwload the files of darkside501st or anyone else and try to open it pepakura desginer 3 will pop up really fast and goes away and doesn`t stop doing that so the files won`t open :(
Can someone please help me if you know what`s wrong please!

You can't open the helmet with Pepakura Designer. You can only open this file with Pepakura Viewer.

Strange, there's normally no problem to open the other files in Pepakura Designer as long as you use the password written in the first post.
