Yeah, really, I'd like my first helmet be that good! It's not perfect, of course, but you still have some details to add (bolts, grooves,...) and the edges are neat!

Really good work man!

Hi All,

Firstly I just wanna say thanks Darkside for giving us these files, I came across them last week and finally got the stuff together over the weekend to start on the helmet.

I have one quick question though, I made the faceplate yesterday, image below:

As you can see its kinda stretched out at the moment, is it supposed to be like this right now and then bends into place when I connect it to the rest of the helmet or have I messed it up and need to start again?

It slightly does come to shape when you get the rest connected.

Hey guys, noob here. Haha

I've been working on the mk7 for about 5 weeks now, and I have just about everything pepped, and a large portion of the upper body hardened. I came across the fact that I didn't have the neck file for the mk7. I couldn't find that thing anywhere, and other neck files just weren't satisfying for me. I've seen eyeofsauron's neck file, and I like the fact that it's height is long to cover the bare neck. He only had foam files to share, and I was using papercraft so I got a little uneasy :( But somehow SOMEHOW with no knowledge of unfolding, I managed to unfold one from his file. I'll have it on my skydrive if anyone wants it. If there are any problems with it (which there possibly will be), let me know! :) Hopefully this will help those wanting a neck file.

That is really good so far. If you keep at it with some more filler and shaping work then you can have a really good looking helmet. It takes quite a few passes on each part to get a really smooth finish. So don't give up now... keep on going.

Yeah, it looks like you have not set the sharing permissions on the file. Just so everyone knows the V2 file will have a neck, lol. So unless it is the only thing holding you back from completing your suit, you can save it to last and use the V2 file when it comes out.

Oh, sorry. It's also my first time using the skydrive :p I believe I unlocked it to the public.. Well, I signed off and reclicked the link and its there haha

Also the unfold is really disorganized. 6 in the morning, and I just wanted to print the thing off :sleep

It is public. You guys can't make changes to it. What do you mean it is disorganized?

Just something minor like the parts that are close to each other in the 3D display may not be close to each other on the pages. The file be accessed to everyone though, right?

Oh ok ... well there were a lot of helpers to get this thing done in time for the Avengers and not everyone unfolds the same way so, yeah, there are going to be some files that may be unfolded a little different than what you might be used to. I will be unfolding all the V2 files though so they will all be done the same way which should help with that disorganized impression you are getting. Let me know if you approve of the V2 helmet... that is how I will be unfolding the rest of the V2 files.

Yes! Yes! And x100 more yes! The helmet was the first pep I had ever done, and now that I look back on it in comparison to some of the other files that I researched, your helmet is definately more simpler to pep and with such detail. I'd pep it again since its very organized :)

YES! I particularly loved the way you unfolded the helmet. Some unfolds are unnecessarily difficult to pep because of the way the file was unfolded, but yours was easy to build yet still retained the right amount of detail. :)

MY models seem to have that DIFFICULTY level you speak of. But, I've only been modelling for a few months, so hopefully they'll get better.

Hi guys! First time posting here and while not quite as cool as progress on a helmet, here is a pic of one of the hand plates. Please note: this has NOT been sanded. This was paper pepakura with bondo/fiberglassing (rondo) on the inside. Also: there is no paper left on it. No tools, no sanding and in this pic it hasn't even fully cured. Just thought I'd like to share, and if anyone is interested I'll post the information on how to do this once I have it all worked out. Although, I'm sure that some of you that have been doing this for a while could figure it out pretty quickly. :) Comments/ criticism are always helpful!photo.JPG
