Hello Everyone. I wanted to gauge interest in some items for the upcoming video game Death Stranding by Hideo Kojima.
We have started work on the aluminum rigging brackets... I was able to find a source for the aluminum at a lower MOQ so I could start on these without taking on preorders.

We just finished up the Q-Pid.

We have also been developing a pattern and are now working on the prototype for the blue Sam Porter suit.

We are also working on the rigging harness.

And the gloves.

And the handcuffs.

And we are looking into making the body parts of the Odradek (robotic chiral sensor) out of metal. Also looking into LED lighting for the panels and possible motor rotation of the head and panels all while maintaining the screen accurate appearance. Of course, there would be some visible wires with those extras but we will be doing everything we can to hide them.

That’s pretty cool. I preordered the special edition with BB, so this would get me closer to a complete outfit.

Interested.

Hey, I am playing the game and must say I love the Bridges uniforms, they are so damn cool and functional.
Your work is awesome. I'd definitely be interested in all of your DS props, if I can afford them that is. Do you have a rough price range for those items so I can an idea how much I need to start saving?

On another note, anyone else feels like the BB pod of the collectors edition is a bit too small? It looks bigger ingame to me.

Got the pod looks and feels right to me, says 1:1 scale, but who knows

We are getting pricing together as quickly as possible. The brackets and the Q-Pid are pretty simple and easy to price. Other items are more complex and there are various ways to approach construction and different materials that can be used. So we are looking at options and deciding how best to proceed.

About the size of the BB Pod. I can confirm that it is accurately scaled. I did many scaled comparisons while working on the 3D models and every comparison I did gave pretty close to the same results which is to be expected when working with 3D models used in a video game. The results all yielded rigging brackets that are about 10 inches wide and a little over 6 inches tall. I decided to order the Collector's Edition with the BB Pod to double check the size of the bracket because I thought it would be great if the bracket would actually match the BB Pod perfectly. It came in yesterday and I took detailed measurements and a bracket that would match perfectly to the BB Pod will be 9.88 inches wide and 6.38 inches tall. A very close match to my initial calculations using a height of 5'10" for Norman Reedus which is his actual height. They did all that body scanning so why wouldn't the in game model be the same height as Norman.

So just to reiterate we will be making the rigging brackets to match the BB Pod. The BB Pod is accurately scaled. If you are bigger or smaller than 5'10" then it may feel too big or too small for you but if you think about it all the BB Pods in the game are the same regardless of the character size.

I also decided it would be necessary to offer some BB Pod Accessories that would match up to the official BB Pod to make it more accurate. So we will be doing that. Maybe we will do a video tutorial on a BB Pod repaint and installation of the accessories.

PS - I am just a little baffled as to why the little moon man doesn't have a spot designated to tie the string too (loop the string through). I mean mine is constantly falling off the string and that is just with moving it from one spot to another. Imagine cosplay. Some modifications will have to be done to prevent this little guy from getting lost. They really should have designed it with an anchor spot.

Very interested here! Would love to get more parts for the BB pod, the QPid, The Handcuffs, and the Oradek

That's fantastic !
Looking forward your next update !

Isn’t the little knob with the hole, in the front bottom left of the pod, for the moon man?

I believe he's referring to a spot on the moon man himself - despite coming with a string there's no real way to put it through the charm and hook it up to anything.

On topic, I'm very interested in all of this, especially the Q-Pid. The game seems like a hit so hopefully you get enough interest/traction to move forward with a lot of the creations. Since the BB is 1:1 scale, I suppose I'll need to start scrounging the internet for one.

I'm VERY VERY interrested in the rigging bracket, the jumpsuit and the harness. Maybe I order the odradek too if the price is reasonnable.
Where are you on the project ?
A jumpsuit replica is sooo hard to find. Beside chinese crap there is Nothing

darkside501st - Any updates on this project? I saw that you have the Q-Pid up on your Etsy shop, but I'm very curious to see progress on the other components!

Our fourth quarter was busier than expected so it put us a little behind on our projects. We have already finished the Q-Pids, Cliff Unger dog tags, and some patches for Bridges and Fragile. Also, we are finishing up the BB Pod accessories and I will be doing a video on a repaint tutorial and how to add the accessories to the official BB Pod.

I have also been thinking about making a bell/dome for the BB Pod that is black (possibly with the dot matrix pattern) to replace the transparent bell on the official BB pod. Since most of the time when Sam is walking around that is how it looks and it may be less 'creepy' for some public outings, lol. I haven't decided on that though. Thoughts?

We are also finishing up the Cufflinks (handcuffs) and have incorporated a cool feature on that. We are getting ready to finish up the brackets, and jumpsuits. We are working on the gloves and rigging harness.

I have been making plans for the odradek... searching for appropriate hardware and making adjustments to the model to accommodate that hardware. I've 3D printed a prototype for scaling and function verification.

Awesome! I'm hoping to have a Sam costume ready by Halloween this year, so I'm not in a huge hurry. :p I think having real metal brackets would be a game-changer compared to whatever 3D printed stuff I could find otherwise--but everything else would be amazing as well!

darkside501st - Just had an odd thought: is there any chance of the jumpsuit being offered in a two-part construction--like a jacket and matching pants, rather than a one-piece coverall? I know it would sacrifice a bit of accuracy, but I would love having the option to just throw on the upper half to wear as an everyday raincoat! Plus, with all the rigging/straps, it would be pretty easy to conceal a seam between jacket and pants.
