D.C.'s Supergirl (tv series)

I have no problem with Jimmy being tall, black and good looking, but why does he know Clark's secret?

Also Dean Cain must have a good agent, name mentioned in opening credits for a none speaking cameo?

Does he? He knows Superman, but I don't recall him saying anything that would lead me to believe that he knows about Clark Kent being Superman...

I doubt Clark would have outed his cousins secret identity to Jimmy unless he already knew he could be trusted with his own.

I got through the rest of the pilot.

thoughts : It crammed waaay to much into it and lost some of the fun of a hero just starting out. hip jimmy needs to go. especially when they have a real jimmy that she first confided in that helped her set up the costume. and I HATED that they had to bring femenism into it at the end. Does EVERY series about a girl have to bring a bout a message like it's still 1962? you alienate your male audience that way. and probably some of the female audience too. it was only a little bit at the end, but it was still a cringe worthy moment. just have a show about a woman.....and entertain. like agent carter.

When I heard that Kara was going to be fighting a lumberjack character, I thought...WTF? running out of villains? but the way they handled it was OK.

It wasn't the greatest of first episodes. whoever wrote it must be a rookie writer, or got told to put too much stuff in and didn't know how to say 'enough is too much already..'.
but it was enjoyable.

I'll be checking out the first few episodes at least and have episode 2 on my dvr.

that's what I was wondering about as well. he HAS to know who clark is....the secret identity thing being kept secrete from close friends on smallville got really old, really fast. so i'm glad they are dropping that now for at least CLOSE acquaintances and friends.

Tonight's episode confirms he knows.

So far I think it's ok, way less painful to watch than Gotham. I noticed in the first episode they seemed to have an aversion to saying Superman and Clark Kent, though they got over it in the second episode. I think it's worth seeing where this show goes, I think it has potential.

They have a habit of showing her sort of zip into a flight scene as if suddenly slowing down for the camera.
Stop that! LOL

I didn't get at all that Jimmy (seriously???) knew who Clark was, just that he is friends with S. Nothing even HINTED that he knew his identity.

This scene kinda cracked me up a bit...

I hope this series picks up some speed because these first two episodes have just been meh. I kinda doubt this is going to go over two seasons at best.

To be fair, the vast majority of shows tend to stumble a bit in their first season. I can only think of two shows that hit the ground running with everything gelled together perfectly: Firefly and Leverage.

It was a great new take on the saving the cat from the tree. Just like in 78 you hear the little girl get slapped for lying.
Very cool and funny.
It's how you deal with it being too cheesy, yes they are saving the little kids pets which is hokey but just like Donner did, put a little
twist and laugh in to make it work. They get it!

If Jimmy does not know Clark is Superman, than Superman comes off as a massive dick for giving away the secret identity of his cousin to a guy he doesn't trust with his own.

Plus he runs the risk for Kara saying "Clark told you that!"

Well said and totally agree. :lol

The second episode was ok, but just ok. SG is still too nervous around her boss, and I'm not too keen on this agency she's working with. Too many characters and it's supposed to be a superhero show, not a disguised cop show. Hopefully the kinks will be worked out. Overall, it's fun enough.

I like how she was all cocky and wanting to jump headlong into danger... until her aunt showed up and handed her ass to her.

Damn she is cute in that outfit...

I noticed a lot of post processing on Calista's face/neck area to make her skin more youthful.

Anyone else have the audio during actions scenes suddenly get much quieter then go back to
regular volume after the action scenes? Sounds like maybe a live dynamic range compressor was used...sounded awful.

Wondering if it was just my local station doing that or if it was in the broadcast master.

Gave this show 2 episodes and I'm about ready to call it quits, I'll give it one more episode but highly doubt it'll turn me around.

He told Kara that Cat wouldn't recognize her as Supergirl because "she doesn't see you now, I've watched it happen for years with your cousin, like why don't you think people recognize him as Clark Kent?...He's able to hide because people don't believe there's a hero in their midst." (9 mins into ep. 2)
