Cyberpunk city diorama

Thank you for your kind attention to me, Michael-san, and my friends. I'm sorry for the long no-show. A few weeks ago, I got a heat shock while I was out for work in a garden. That was not so serious but I thought I needed some rest. Now I'm fine and spending most of the days in a house. Playing some games and sometimes I went to help my daughter's work. It's a sad thing but I got my itchy feeling about making a model again. Some ideas came up and I noted. The ideas are not just for that diorama but for the next model build. We will have many guests coming in September so it will be a bit busy days but I will start building and post them sooner.
I am hoping you and your families are all well and having a happy summer vacation.

All the best, katsu

Glad your ok. Had a feeling the heat had something to do with it.
When I did lawn maintenance in FL a few years back, there were a few times I almost passed out, and that was drinking tons of water, Gatorade and pouring water over my head. The sun can still really beat you down.
Good that you are still getting good ideas. I'm the same way, with tons of ideas always for the future.

Still, we are having hot days continuously but I can feel it gradually close to Autumn.
Today, I went into the work shack and cleaned it up. Then I fixed the 15-years-old toaster because the toasted bread does not pop out lately.

looking goood.

And I added a part to a the new nail cutter. It's an excellent nail cutter but it doesn't have a housing. The chips of nails are scattering away.

It's just a small thing but very convenient.

My rehab after a long hiatus.

Thanks for looking. I'll be back soon.

Yeah, been hot here as well, but thankfully starting to get cooler at night, down in the 60s and next week the 50s....yay.
During the summer, it can go a few months without raining, but the last 2 days we actually got a pretty good storm both days.
Someone on Facebook posted this picture....kinda scary looking.

Heat shock is no joke. Glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Hopefully Fall weather has been nice over there and your feeling invigorated again

Its finally cooling down here, especially at night. Last Sat, friends and I went out in the desert at 12am to shoot some fireworks. I had a feeling I needed to bring a jacket. One guy didn't, he was freezing.
From like boiling hot to freezing cold in a week times. Hopefully its getting more like that over in Japan so we can see more work being done!!!

Thanks a lot, Michael-san!

Oh, Thank you so much, I'd love that TV show!

Thank you, joberg-san!

I'm struggling to build a car that won't make you disappointed.
I always realized that America is the country of a vehicle. Mercedes is OK, Audi is fine, too, BMW? why not? But still, I love American hot cars. Look at that black Buick Riviera!! That's the dream car.
Many unique cars in many US TV shows are always fascinating to me.

Chevy Corvette in 'Route 66'

'Black Beauty' in 'Green Hornet'

'Bat Mobile' of course!

'General Lee' in Dukes of Hazard'

'Striped Tomato' (Japanese name Crimzon thunder') in Starsky and Hatch.

'Knight 2000' in Knight Rider

Many many more!

So, I might need more effort to build something you like. As I watch the works like the great paint job on Michael-san's Falcon and the fascinating space dock by joberg-san could really make me astounded and motivated me.

So far, I could put up some boring pics but the cabin and the chassis will be finished soon. I think I would paint this metallic red with some stripes.

The first watermelon this year.

And Yuki's guardian cat is fine.

Looks like he loves the warmth behind the PC.

As always, AMAZING work! And you have the coolest cat ever!

Thank you, Naked Mell Rat-san and Michael-san!
It's good to hear that you have cool days by now. Last week, we had a few cool days but soon hot days were back. Nearly 95F these days. On one of the cool days, we went to a little BBQ picnic at the river in a canyon nearby. It's been many years since we did this thing last time. That was a fantastic time for me and my family.

My daughters were like little kids again.

I vaguely remember that I said I'd be back to build soon but there were some serious situations I had to face.
One: A long-awaited game 'Star Field' has been released.
Two: A long-awaited game DLC 'Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty' has been released.
It took 2 weeks to finish them. What a disaster for my model-building life!

Now it's over and in fact, I started to build the rest of the diorama a few days ago. So I can put up some pics later. Not much exciting but please wait for that.

All the best,

katsu

Thank you so much, my friends. At last, we are having cool days. I started to build the rest of the diorama. I am working on making the surface of the streets and sidewalks. The commercial signages and road signs, road markings parking meters. I'm trying to make it vivid and lively as much as possible. So far there's nothing interesting pics to put up. I hope I can post in a few days later.

Here are some pics of the street view.
The base is one-inch thick 2 feet x 4 feet laminated wooden plates. stage was lifted up by 2 cm for further electrical wiring.

To express the rough feel of the road surface, water-based acrylic paint was applied and lacquer paint was sprayed on top. The first acrylic paint then melted, creating small wrinkles.
