is that bubbles in the resin cast lifty,? you need to tap the mold gently to get rid of them

Yes, in the resin. Tapping the mold will help for sure, also I guess I wasn't gentle enough while mixing and pouring this thing into the mold. I'll leave it for later to experiment.

Hi there!
Here is the progress. I've been constantly changing the shape of top of the head as it was neglected before. This is what i end up with- the general makeover in this area (head on the right) . I am pretty happy with it now and I think this one could be serious candidate for the "final release"
It would be good though to see it painted first and than look for flaws again. Pics
The real pain in the ass turned out to be small parts (jaws) molding/casting. I didn't expect it to be that time consuming but I'm definitely getting there!

As for the painting- I can't declare myself just yet. I would really like to, but I'm not sure if I'll have time for this. Painting means to deliver the same quality level for every single head- loads of time needed and that's something I am missing lately.. I will decide when the head is ready. (Actually it is, but casts of jaws are far from good and that's what i'm working on)

lookin' good lifty my friend.....those mandibles are a bitch to do, I tried them myself once or twice, its very tricky, yours are looking great tho', I know what you mean about painting heads, very very time consuming, and I expect the level of orders you may get will be a tall order to fill....I definately would love one, painted preferred, but if not unpainted would be fine....would the finished job be available with two sets of interchangeable mandibles, open/closed?? well done buddy, your a genius

It will come with open and closed jaws, interchangeable. I am getting increasingly better results with casting now so everything seems to be on good track.
Just to let you know the work is on- here attempts to make a perfect mold.
It would be easier if pred had just one tooth.. But then this forum would not exist probably, damn it.

hey buddy, i noticed you had an air bubble or two where teeth should be, etc. depending on the mold those little crevices should get poured first. then the rest, very slowly too, i'm sure you don't have much time in between mixing and pouring, but if you can, it helps. also, i've noticed once you pour your material, and put the other side on, take it and flip it, turn it, it helps the air bubbles get away from areas that would make it fragile.

Yeah it makes sense what youre sayin mate, I'll try it. I suspect however that my problems have to do not that much with entrapped air while pouring, I made lots of vents in my molds so I can see that the fluid reaches all most important places (I use syringe for pouring) The pain is that the air bubbles tend to appear out of nowhere in the moment the resin starts to set (!) I have read that it could be connected to humidity in the air or wrog proportions. I don't think its the latter in my case so, now what?
Atm one cast out of six comes flawless or with defects that could be accepted. My plan is: to try different resin like 305, to redesign molds, in worst case scenario I'll buy or borrow a pressure chamber. Anyways it have to be done, now I can only apologise some of you for my hurray optimistic prediction for the finish date.. Well it will take some longer but I think its worth to wait.

Hi, I've been very busy lately, but things are going forward.
It is quite difficult to get anything from Polytek in my country, (no distibutors, I can't order from Amazon also). I tried smooth cast 305 instead and it turned to be much better than 322 I was using before. Bubbles problem disappeared almost completely! I really like this resin and I'll stick to it. Curently I'm still working on the molds, eliminating all flaws they had. This week I'll upload pics of the head with all corrections I've done.
