Here is a Cricket Phaser I built using the stapleton resin kit. It uses the board from the Playmates Cricket Phaser. The one problem with using the Playmates board is that it does not have a light up power meter. So, I made my own using four 3mm green LEDs. This board was wired to a seperate on/off switch mounted under the left copper button. The right button doesn't do anything. The one thing I do like about using the Playmates board is that the emitter light stays on even after you release the trigger. Once the firing sound is done the light goes off. I replaced the red LED seen in the pics with a water clear 3mm 3,000mcd LED. It's super bright. I also drilled deep into the emitter so the LED could sit further into it to light the windows. It also gives a nice cone shaped detail inside the emitter now. I also added a PE metal screen under the speaker so that is was nice and loud without being muffled. It's not on the real prop but I wanted a lot of sound.
Well, enjoy the pics.
This is the first one I built with the GMProps board.
Hard to believe the elctronics from the Playmates fit into this!
And a short video.
