I was only just introduced to your community and was told y'all might be interested in the Cortical Stack I made.

Currently gearing up for a full production run. The new version will have capacitive touch capabilities

sure thing.


It has been scaled based on a screen shot from the show where they are in a cigarette ash tray. I've got them at just under 45mm wide and about 15mm tall.

The one in the gif was done in Sterling Silver.

It contains a small lipo pouch cell, an ATTiny microcontroller, some 1206 SMD LEDs, and a magnetic reed switch.

Had a great time recreating this. My friend and I are working on a custom PCB to fufill new orders. We're looking to add capacitive touch, for a mode where the stack only glows when you touch it.

Were these cast or machined?

They were cast from 3D printed waxes.

The same method works for Gold, Brass, ect.

Cheaper options include various treatments of binder jetted stainless steel.

Yes there is. There is a "Project Runs" section specifically for that purpose: https://www.therpf.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75

However, in order to start a new run, or sell anything on this forum, you have to be a Premium Member, which requires a subscription. The subscription is really cheap ($4/month or $36/yr) and can be done here:
