Re: Control Box PCB for Roman Props Balance V4

Just a quick update...

The attempt at using dye on the resin after printing did not go as well as I had hoped. I tried a few different methods, a few different dye types, an no luck. I will need to add the dye to the resin printing. To do so I had to order a two extra trays for my printer, and unfortunately there is no Amazon type option here so they are coming from the manufacturer. They did mail them out today and according to tracking they should be here the middle of next week.

On a more positive note the PCBs have shipped! They should be here very soon. I'm hoping that by the end of next week I'll have all the final products in hand to show everyone and get things ready to ship out.

Awesome! I can't wait to see everything! Thanks for doing this!

Hey everyone, I'm happy to team up with BRRogers here to make sure that everyone gets the triangles of their dreams... :) The two of us will work out the particulars and update everyone when we can.

Re: Control Box PCB for Roman Props Balance V4

Anyone also interested in Neopixel PCB holders for their V4? These will allow the use of the PCBs that can be purchased from TCSS. These are just prototypes, I need to do some stress testing and may end up making them with a different resin. $15 is my ask for the set.

For the blade side holder the PCB will pop right in, no glue or anything needed. Since the hilt LED holder also attaches the emitter to the neck the holder will need to sit inside the blade to allow for the slip fit. I've created a ring groove to help with glue.

The hilt side holder comes in two pieces, and again the PCB just pops in. The two pieces come together encasing the PCB and slides down into the hilt LED holder. The top cover allows only the spring pins to have contact with the blade side PCB, so no bent pin problems. The bottom keeps the PCB from coming into contact with the LED holder surface and there is a hole to allow the wires to run though.

So please let me know if you are interested and if there are any questions please let me know.

Interested in the PCB holders for neopixel! I feel like you're checking off all the things I want to do with this V4! Good job with the design.

I checked my MK1 and based on the LED holder I have this will fit but it's a little tall... I can do a modified base. This will fit the Inception as is. I guess maybe I should do a separate run for these. :)

Thanks! Next comes the chassis... Nothing fancy, functional is the goal here.

Re: Control Box PCB for Roman Props Balance V4

PCBs are in! The fit is perfect.

Hopefully I can get the holes drilled, switches and LEDs installed on the board (I have different types to try out so we get the best results), and all the kinks (if any) worked out this weekend. I want to make sure everyone has everything they need to make this an easy install.
