Constantine Hero Shotgun...?

I'm sure every Constantine fan on this board is familiar with the DC Direct Constantine Holy Shotgun, which is supposed to be cast off the stunt version. My question, is does anyone know anything about the prop shotgun in the films? I watched the extras on the Deluxe dvd and it seems to be plastic that's been vac-metalizised gold. I don't think I've seen any version out there aside from the stunt gun, and one on yourprops with a single picture.

Anyone know anything on here of any alternate versions or the originals?

It was my understanding that it was, in fact, a real shotgun; and that Keanu Reeves had it deactivated and given to the director as a gift.

But right now, I can't find a source for that statement. So yeah. :confused

that just doesnt make sense at all....
it would be up to the production company of the film to do that not the actor....

i was looking into making a non functioning (or airsoft) one when the movie came out, but after talking to a gunsmith, we couldnt figure out if it was based on a real gun or not. the parts are all wierd....

It's a modified striker 12 with a whole lot of gold and silver bolted on.

And actors can request that a hero gun be deactivated if they want to. Angelina Jolie owns several of the guns she's used in her films. Tom Jane does as well.

i didnt say that doesnt happen...i know the director of tremors2 kept the 50. cal that the one character used...

BUT.... its the producers giving them to the actors as gifts after wrapping the film. not the actors...

it boils down to the fact that the shotgun wouldnt be Keanu's to have deactivated and give away..it would be up to the production companies to do that......

so the story doesnt really make sense the way its written...

Let me rephrase it then.

Keanu supposedly bought the piece from the production company, & had it deactivated and given to the director as a gift.

Like I said, I'm fairly certain I heard it in an interview, but if you type "Keanu bought holy shotgun" in Google, you'll see the same story. It's just that the search results aren't from sources I'd call ironclad. *shrugs*

why in the world would you deactivate a gun???

i know ,i know ,safety and gunlaws. but it breaks my heart to see a firearm get deactivated.
