The work is amazing, I commend the work, that doesn't put that amount of money in my bank account.
Please don't mistake the lack of ability to pay for something or the desire to find less expensive ways of making a metal version of this saber as a sign of disrespect. There are lots of things I've "lost my poo over" that I just couldn't afford in the end.

My apologies, I should never respond when I've just woken up hehe.
I do wish the guys doing this the best of luck, I know a lot of hard work went into this and I appreciate that. If the transmission in our van hadn't gone out yesterday I'd be trying to scrape the money together.

I'm hoping to have the pricing by Wednesday.
What will likely happen to drop the price considerably is to have the main 6 parts machined aluminium. This will mean the main parts that need to be alu, will be.
There are some detail parts where I will have 1 copy SLA printed and polished up. then I will cast it in resin and they will be resin parts of the kit. These are smell detail parts, non functional and after painting as will be done anyways, you won't know the difference.
In reality in order to keep the detail and functionality of the saber, this is required to be done this way if we want the price to come down.
the 7/8 blade poses it's own problems as they are not so common for dueling/show blades. For instance, on TCCS, the main saber modding webstore (that I know of) they do not offer any 7/8 blades. It is possible to get them but I think it's much more functional to get a more standard sizing to make it accessible to more people.
Well, the price will guaranteed come down.
For anyone interested, the list is currently at 12 people. with the RPF and Facebook threads going. I plan on expending out the reach soon to several saber forums as well to ensure this gets off the ground.
I think a good number of people are waiting on the new pricing.
Never fear, I'm ultra interested in bringing the price down as much as possible, but take my word, I will not sacrifice the details or the feel of the saber just to drop the price. The goal is to make this the #1 Kylo saber out there, period.

Suggestion: Whatever happens, keep the belt clip separate so that it will work with Luke's functional clips.

For sure! the Saber and clip are already designed to work together. you won't need to get his clip but it will be already designed to use it.

Definitely keeping my eyes on this, waiting for the revise pricing. Around 400€ would be doable for me. Would these ship from germany (or europe anyway) ? That would mean no customs fees for me, big plus in my book !

Scott's always a good go to. Anything you buy from him is guaranteed quality.
I will be in on this pending how low the price goes. I'm all for high quality machining, but like most people, cost is a bit of an issue. I'm liking the idea of doing some resin bits.
After buying the black series kylo saber, and being horribly disappointed, I look forward to the day I can own a realistic Kylo saber.
