clone wars (cartoon) / A New Hope question

No, They've screwed up their Fan Ideas of Mandalorians. Unless you are the Creator, or have Clearance FROM the Creator of something like SW, Trek, or B5, like it or not, all the stuff you can Imagine is NOT canon unless Approved. IE, the Reliant was a MIRANDA class Vessel, not an AVENGER class, and the Enterprise Refit was STILL a Constitution class Vessel, not an Enterprise Class Vessel. Now George has Generously made some things like Pink 5 Canon, but once again, it's his discretion.

I Don't see how he "Messed up" the Mandalorians. It was stated that they and the Jedi have been Opponents for Millennia, and only now are they out of favor as a faction, WHICH is faithful to the Cycles that the Republic seems to go through, and can be seen in our own history.

No this stuff was actually canon. They screwed up Karen Traviss' (Republic Commando, etc.) Mandalorians, not the fans'. Lucas' Mandos so far are hippies. Now if Lucas actually had an outline that had the backstory for all this stuff, instead of just broad outlines, I'd accept it. When he's picking and choosing to change stuff that is better the way the authors wrote it, then I don't agree. It's his right, but I just don't see the reason for changing things in those instances unless they didn't work. It's not like the Owen was Obi Wan's brother thing or Boba Fett's background where he did have those worked out 30 years ago.

BTW, I don't see Lucas making Pink 5 or naming Obi Wan's home planet after Jon Stewart as a great defense of his ideas.

"This is one of the first things I wrote in the very first script. He comes from the planet Stewjon."
―George Lucas, joking about Obi-Wan's planet of origin[src]

Pretty funny. That was him basically admitting he is full of crap with his whole "it all existed in my head" stuff! LOL!

I'm guessing the aides that stand with Sidious/Palpatine at the Senate might know just because he'd need some people to send messages for him.

You're confusing Sidious and Palpatine. Palpatine is in his Palpatine guise when he's doing anything regarding Republic business (whether as Chancellor or as Emperor). He puts on the dark robe and becomes Sidious only when doing the behind-the-scenes Sith stuff. Prior to the Yoda battle, we only ever see Sidious talking in person to Maul or Dooku, or in a hologram pushing Lott Dodd or another Separatist around.

When he's in the Senate, he's Palpatine all the way.

I'm not confusing them, I mean that if his aides are around all the time, there's a good chance he would have to let them in in order for them to carry out his Sith shenanigans. He can't just say "Leave for an hour" and then switch clothes and be evil until they come back. He would still need a certain amount of people who knew his identity to carry out his orders/errands besides his one apprentice. There are probably a lot of people who like the Sith sort of how we have Satanists here that would flock to the Devil to help him.
