Celebrity jerks?

The funniest review of the Twilight series I've ever read went something like this; "... a choice between bestiality and necrophilia..."

You mean something like this?

I've met a few:
John Candy
Gregory Hines
Richard Simmons
Latoya Jackson
Jesse Jackson (the Rev)
I met all of them (seperately) while working in Chicago at an executive lobby shop (over priced news stand :lol) in the late 80's, JC was the best, he was filming "Uncle Buck" and graciously signed his receipt (porn and chocolate :lol)for me.(His hat did not anger me ;)) Not to single out John as a perv, LJ was in that month's issue of Playboy but I didn't have the nerve to ask her to sign it ;) JJ was the only one that didn't make a "grown-up" purchase. :lol

I used to work in a little ski town in Colorado and saw Bill Murray there a few times over 5-6 years. I only spoke to him once when he checked in, just as funny and off the cuff as you'd expect. I heard he had a lot of fun with the ski rental guys, at their expense, but tipped well. Bought a round of drinks for the entire bar when I happened to be there, so that was nice, too. Not a bad skier either.

Worst for me was christopher llyod (think i spelt that right lol)
Was at london comic 3-4 years ago. Being back to the future is my film off all time. I spent 2.5 hours inline to meet him paid 100 pounds for 2 signatures on both my 1/18th scale deloreans. put my models down start to talk to him signs my cars and says next doesnt even look at me ,head down the whole time( i was like what the hell just happened) seriously peed off big time see my face in the pic ive uploaded lol

The 3 storms from big trouble in little china and james hong (david lo pan ) where nice guys to meet
Mragot kidder sweet lady

The weirdest was edward furlong when i met him in england pay the lady who is sitting next to him ask my name i say ben so she tells him to sign ben. he looks up at me and says how do you spell ben, i look at him and say B.E.N. oh he says. Lovely guy but to many years on the drugs still did a posed photo with me

I read a few pages of this thread and got depressed at the stories of celebs being jerks. I always like to think of them as just their characters and not ruin the illusion of their work.

I like to think people are always personable and pleasant but I guess that's not always the case. I have to remember though that it must get tiring being recognized or having so much adulation thrown one's way all the time. The movies or things they are in are, after all, just a job. Also, alot of these conventions or public appearances the bulk of celebs are just there for one thing; they are being paid to be there. And after hundreds of handshakes and chats and photos and autographing, they must get worn down and irritable. I would.

Also, celebrities are constantly in the spotlight, and being under scrutiny all the time generally means a distinct lack of privacy.

You should keep reading... it 'devolves' quite rapidly into a nice celebrity thread... which is quite heartening.

Yeah, it's really a mix. Mostly people saying "These guys were all GREAT....except that dude. What a ******* he was. Then again, maybe he was just having a bad day."

And that's pretty much the thread. :)

It's nice to see celebrities who are cool about it, though.

By the way, bionicbaconben, the next time you run into Peter Kwong at a convention, tell him you loved him in Never Too Young to Die. ;)

Best ever, Robert/ Nancy Englund. I spent a weekend with him and his wife Nancy thanks to my good friends Anders and Asia Eriksen. Robert is incredibly accommodating full of great stories. We walked along the beach in Laguna stopping at every bar along the way for drinks and appetizers. Along with Roberts tour guide routine of Laguna :). At the end of the night they told me to stay in the guest room. To this day I can't process it.

Not so much a known celebrity but Les Claypool of PRIMUS, Great guy, funny, a bit awkward. Not sure he grasps that he is one of the greatest bass players who has ever walked this planet. Personal hero of mine , just so happens we have the same birthday.
