Celebrity jerks?

Since most of us attend conventions, I'm sure you've met a few celebrity guests.
Yea well alot of people have a chip on thier shoulder... They make it BIG and they look down on everyone else who hasnt..... MANY PEOPLE ARE LIKE THIS,not just celebrities!

Over the years I've met quite a few Celebs.....

Michael Hogan...I've ran into this guy, not intentionally, at three separate Cons
and he is always pleasant, goofy, and loves to talk to his fans.

Aaron Douglas...Was pleasant, a little personable, and a struck me as a little arrogant

Ray Park.....Ran into him on his way to his own con table and while he had a line that probably had a zillion people in it, he stopped and had a five minute conversation with me.

Michael Biehn...Kind of a self absorbed A$$hole.

Adam Baldwin....Very nice, a little self absorbed.

Jewell Staite....A doll I recommend anybody who has a chance to meet her DO SO...

Daniel Logan....Seems a little self absorbed, okay a lot, and has little fan interest.

Doug Jones....This guy is as about as friendly as a star can get.

Megan Franich.....A Doll....Loves her fans...

Tahmoh Penikett ....A little shy and reserved.

Kate Vernon.....Is reserved and not very personable.

Matthew Wood....Nice guy...Loves the fan base.

Anthony Daniels....Guy is a self absorbed *****

Peter David....Really Nice Guy...Loves talking to people

Steve Perry (author)....Also really Nice.

Tim Zahn....Nice Guy

Terry Brooks....Goofy and loves his fans (are we sensing a theme here? I've yet to meet a douchbag author)

I know there are alot more...but I can't think of any right now....

BEST I ever met was Noel Clarke (Mickey from Doctor Who). He used to be on the ViewAskew Message Board. He is a big Kevin Smith fan. There was thread about him and the films he'd written, starred in and directed.

A few months before his latest film at the time, 4.3.2.1, he put an invite out to people that had participated in that thread to attend an early press viewing of the movie. I was one of the chosen. I responded and asked if I could bring my wife. The response was an emphatic yes. As the time drew nearer it transpired there was only going to be 5 of us going. An email arrived asking if we'd like to meet up with Noel prior to the screening. YES. Then, Noel would like to invite you to dinner before the screening. HELL YES.

We met him at quite a plush London hotel where he put up for a top quality 3 course dinner and drinks and then walked us over to the theatre for the movie. A nicer, more down to earth guy I have never met. He was a great and natural host. I left feeling like I just met a new best friend. Won't hear a bad word said of the guy.

WORST was Ian McCulloch, lead singer of Echo and the Bunnymen. Met him after their reunion gig in Liverpool, he was a complete t**l. I had the audacity to approach him and say "great gig, really enjoyed it" and before I could say anything else he launched into a tirade about how I looked like a student (which I was at the time) and how much he hates students. He REALLY hates students judging by the language. I walked away after the 3rd/4th f bomb and he continued to berate me as I left.

Fantastic story! :thumbsup

I met Jewel Staite last year at the Gatecon in Burnaby.

Very nice woman.

...Also had the hugest CT I have ever seen.

I would have taken a pic, but she was just too nice to do that to her.

I also met Stephanie Meyer (Author of Twilight)

Told her to "just keep writing, it'll improve eventually"

She laughed, meanwhile her handler, with eyes as wide as saucers looked like he was going to poop his pants.

I was escorted out moments later. :D

I seen Billy at a hotel when he was in town for a convention.

I politely asked him for a picture & he stopped to do it but his assistant came running from across the room to tell him no.

His assistant said to me no free pictures allowed. His assistant is a real pos.

Billy Dee Williams. I was really excited to meet him because I consider him one of the unsung heroes of Star Wars! However, he was awful. At one convention, he threw a hissy fit because he didn't like the music they were playing (there was a battle of the bands tournament) and made them call off the tournament entirely!! At another convention, I mostly had a problem with his assistant. At his Q&A panel, his assistant would not even allow him to answer some questions because he said they were "generic and stupid". Billy Dee seemed so washed up, and he obviously didn't care about his fans at all.

Oh my...how much for a picture with the CT?

I met both Kate Mulgrew and Martha Hackett at Star Trek London in October, the first time ever that I met famous folk I'm actually a fan of. Was a surreal experience and both were really friendly. Had 3 different conversations with Martha Hackett, who I think probably thought I was a stalker/dimwit XD

spent quite some time with a son of asbjorn riis(obscure and local i know), by extension i met him quite a few times, he played a full costume troll at a roleplaying scenario for an hour or two and it was hilarious.

just dont let him challenge you to a drinking contest, still only remember a third of that birthday.

Man, I'm bummed to here this about Anthony Daniels. I was pulled up on stage by him at the CIV panel with Jay Lag'aia (SP?). He came out on stage, amidst applause and such, then he said how it was a lame welcome compared to his he received in ROTJ (in jest, of course). He asked if anyone knew what he was referring to and I raised my hand. My dad and I happened to be in the front row, because some guy with reserved seats invited us to sit next to him (very generous and nice guy). So, after I raise my hand, he points to me and asks me to come up on stage, to show what he meant. So, awestruck, I go onstage, and proceed to make a bit of a fool out of myself and play an Ewok, bowing and chanting to Daniels, a la ROTJ. Everyone laughs, and they play the scene from the movie on the screen. Then the host (Captain Typho from the Prequels) and I lead the audience of a thousand or so in an Ewok worship of Daniels. Afterward, he pats me on the back, and says I can go back down now. He struck me as an awesome, warm, and friendly guy. But I guess he was up on stage, and so he (as someone else here put it) chose to be nice. But during the Q and A, a guy with special needs asked if he could have a hug, and Daniels more than happily obliged. I guess I could have been swayed, being 11 years old at the time, but I dunno.... I still prefer to imagine him as a genuinely nice guy! haha
