I'm gone for 3 weeks and look what happens!!! My King Sol turns into an MPP!!!! I don't know if it's because it's 2:50am where I am, or what, but this "nut" on the back side of the MPP looks as if it's awful thin. Either there isn't a "bar" on that side, or that "nut" is really thinner than what's been put up so far, OR it's actually a washer with another optical illusion.

Ok, my head hurts, and I'm tired

I'm off to bed...

The nut looked Grey. The picture apeared to be black and white with the red bits on Vaders controls added back in.

JD, Nah, it a nut against a black back ground.

OK guys!!!

Got some info for you.

For the ESB MPP, you'll want to be using 10/32 1" long machine screws, with the nuts that go with them.

they work PERFECTLY, just a touch of the screw peeks out past the nut, as well the nut is fairly shallow, in fact as soon as you up one size the nuts just about double in width. From what I can deduce, 10/32 would be appropriate and likely what was used on the real deal, for the simple fact that it would have to fit through the clamp as well as fit the threads of the MPP side plate.

Now if you ordered an MPP kit from me you wont need these parts, because I will be providing them, they will however be silver, and NOT brass. I tend to beleive the yellow tint is caused by the lighting in the carbon freezing chamber. If it were brass it would appear extra yellow, instead of washed out.

Th eonly remaining question is WHAT kind of screw should be used on the clamp, All things considered, I am doubtful of a philips or slotted screw, it just doesnt seem to fit in with anything else...I thought maybe a small hexbolt, or some type of allen screw would just fit better. And afterall this is just a screw, so if new info pops up later, its an easy and inexpensive fix

Chip, the PoSw pic isn't from the Carbon freeze scene, and it shows a yellow fitting in the clamp.

Hmm, I dont know paul, it could be from a flash, or even stell, stell does have the yellowish tinge to it, it just does not read as dark or yellow enough to be brass, and dont forget, we would NOT be dealing with a bright brass finish either...brass tarnish fairly quickly, and I would imagine it should have photographed more towards the brown side if it were actually brass.

Understand too, I am about to order bulk screws and nuts, to put into my kits, as well as washers that are slighglty smaller for the ANH kits. From a business standpoint I feel better including silver over brass...my average customer who is not 100% in the know may look at the brass and say WTF is this??? because it just doesnt look like it goes with everything else. Thats why I said before its an easy fix, about $.25 from your local hardware store

Besides, even if the nut is brass, we still cant be sure the screw is.

Very true, if you look at the one pic of the other side of the clamp, the head of the screw looks silver. Is sitll that yellow coated metal I've sen some fixtures made of?

I've noticed that stainless steel screws and bolts have more of a yellow hue to them compared to aluminum and zinc screws and bolts.

Looks like I'll be going to Lowe's tonight.

BTW> I weathered my ESB Vader saber and it looks much better IMO. It looks more like the POSW pic now.
