Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Pre-release)

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The first movie, forgive me for saying, was utter crap. This one is looking awesome.

And maybe it's because I don't read the comic, but I like the Avengers suit best of the three. I'm not sure what all the hate is about.

Sorry, but the first Cap movie was far from "utter crap".

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

No one has mentioned the STORY the trailer presents. I am very heartened...Cap questioning the power of SHIELD, the manner in which it is wielded and whether it is appropriate under the standards of America's supposed ideals. I'm quite pleased to see it just might be about something other than just a new adventure.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I'm glad you liked it. All I know is I was bored watching that movie. I wanted to like it but I didn't.

I did like TFA but like you I wanted to like it a whole lot more. It was Captain America in World War II so I was expecting a movie and story line on a much grander scale than what was delivered. What I was really hoping for was Saving Private Ryan with Captain America. That being said it wasn't utter crap. The new WS trailer has me pumped and this version of the costume is an improvement over The Avengers Version even though its not a classic version of the suit.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Are we talking best to worst? Because I would have to agree. While I like TWS one the best, TFA suit definitely fit into the world of TFA. The Avengers suit was.. tacky? Is that the word? I just don't see how they went from an awesome design in TFA to that.

Glad they fixed it.

If you pause the trailer right at the 2:05 mark it looks like he is wearing the TFA suit. Its definitely not the Avengers version and it doesn't look like a flashback. Its possible that he has on a modern version of the suit he wore in TFA.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

From what I gathered in a spoiler as far as the TFA suit scene in the trailer:

Something happens to the TWS suit where he either loses it, or can't get to it. He goes to the museum where his TFA suit is being held, takes it and suits back up in it.

The rumor was that Cap steals the WWII suit from the Smithsonian as he grows dissatisfied with SHIELD.

I can see that based on his conversation with Fury. Plus it would be a cool move for the movie makers to do since most liked TFA suit to begin with. Kind of him going back to what he stands for. I like it.

That is a fair statement. Thought there should have been more than the quick montage after the POW rescue that would have given it a grander scale.

The scope and relevance for TWS, just from the trailers, appears to be awesome. Just wonder how much 'Day of the Condor' suspense there will be to balance out the action?
Guess its time to start avoiding the trailers... but... then I guess there will be one with Thor.

It is either a modified or improved TFA suit.
The abs have red panels, the shoulders are integrated into the suit without the brown leather straps and the pouches on the belt look like leather versions similar to the ones from the Avengers.
All that aside, great suit... all of them.

I wonder if it's a suit they built specifically for the smithsonian, because he was frozen with his TFA suit. So unless they built it after they thawed him out, or he had more than one suit, they may have built that suit for the exhibit, and just made some changes.

I'm going to guess that he quits S.H.I.E.L.D. after someone dies and when he hears that they are getting their a** beat he wants to come back. But obviously he has no access to S.H.I.E.L.D. anymore so he goes and takes his stuff from the museum. He already has his shield because it was made specifically for him and they will have to pry if from his cold, dead hands first.

Just my prediction.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I'm guessing that once he realises that The Winter Soldier is Bucky, he gets his TFA costume on as a means of reminding him who he is in an attempt to break the mind conditioning.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

We already know it's a modified TFA suit, see post #280 on this very same thread for the SDCC pic & comparison. My guess is that they built another TFA suit as a museum piece and made it more 'Merica.

Yes and I have already modified my TFA suit with the new ab panel and sleeves. :love
