Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Pre-release)

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I guess I can wear my TFA costume through next year and still be relevant :)
As far as I'm concerned, The First Avenger outfit is the best I've ever seen, so it will always be a hit, regardless of any new installments!:thumbsup

Nice patch.

It will look great with Bobatrek's flightsuit patch.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Not feeling the new suit in the flesh, at all. It looks much too plain and not in a good way. The exposed ears looked ok in the concept art but seeing it in person, it doesn't flow well with that helmet and leather straps, makes the ears stick out like Dumbo.

It's certainly not as silly looking as the TA suit but I think Marvel's design team played it way too safe with this version. I know it's based on the plain Jane Captain Rogers outfit but I feel that they could've done more with this. I certainly hope the rumor of the TFA suit making a comeback in this film is true, that's still the suit that Cap deserves!

Knew first hand the uncovered ears was going to result in a Dumbo look in the real world.
That is why my initial reaction was OH NO.

Edit: The only saving grace is that is a stuntman and not Chris Evans, he may be able to pull it off.
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=81594 has the back of the suit. YEAH! Star buckle.
Now wonder if UD replicas will make this suit?

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

that guy just does not fit this suit

he looks like his head is too small and his ears are too big, and his shoulders padded. also he looks like hes 12
pretty sure chris evans fills this out much better.

I completely agree. I'll reserve my final judgement till I see Chris in the suit. I do like the suit, though that may be the minimalist in me.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I like it, much more of a TFA vibe from this one, and once again I will reserve full judgement until I see Cap kicking someone's teeth in on the big screen wearing it.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I liked the Super Soldier suit from the comics, so I have no problem with this. I also have no problem if he wears his TFA suit or his Avengers suit too. Guess I'm one of the few that likes all the suits he's had.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Those look like rubber ears for the stunt mans helmet.

I think the helmet made for Evans will be better proportioned.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Pic shows some carbon fiber details that I didn't notice on previous shots and artwork of the new lid. Helmet looks cheap on that shot, they'll probably clean it up in post-production. The exposed ears certainly look better with Chris Evans than it did with the stunt guy, but we only have one angle here.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

It's funny, but that shot almost looks like his new helmet is a modified Iron Man helmet.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Unlike the stuntman, do believe those are real.

Looks like the helmet is metal plates over or with integrated carbon fiber.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I am loving this new suit. Already starting on mine. Can't wait to see the back side.
