Limited Run Captain America Harness and Belt/Pouches

So we are running a little behind on the harness sets. We had a problem with leather distribution, plague struck my house, and everything that could go wrong did. We are attempting to persevere and are doubling all our efforts. Needless to say everything else has been put aside until these are all completed.

But the good news...

The second harness set going out today, with another expected on Friday. Sets will be sent out, as they are made, in this order:

BoogieBear (shipping today).

Don't remember if I posted this already or not, (seriously memory ids ****ed up now, had a nasty concussion in a car totalling accident). But I got my set and it looks and fits AWESOME!!! For real, quality leather work here. And I look forward to weathering it to taste.
Thanks Kingsley!!

Crap man! That is an awesome review! Thanks! I will try to make it worth the wait. i WILL be making Gaiters in the upcoming months (after thsi run is done and we are over 50% done).

Why not add the accurate gloves too??:D:angel
BTW can't wait to see Your gaiters mate!:thumbsup

Alberto

The gloves are something I have investigated...however to find the base to work from (let's face it - no one wants to pay my time to MAKE the gloves from scratch) has been a challenge.

Got my set around Christmas time (perfect timing!) and took some pics today. Overall I was happy with the set for the price, you guys will get your money's worth. For sizing I need to trim about 4" off the harness but it'll be easy to re-size and I won't get to that until I get my AoU costume. I noticed that on my set the pouches didn't have stitching along the edges of the flaps, unlike the earlier sets advertised. Kinda disappointing but I can live with it. I also had to re-glue a lot of the metal bits, some bits like the buckle came glued very well but a lot weren't, not sure if kingsley or his apprentice changed glues in the middle or something, but this was an easy fix.

Also to kinsley, here's to hoping you offer a run for the AoU Cap arm guards and gaiters after you finish up the TWS gaiters :cheers

Those metal bits are a nightmare. I ended up using jewellery glue for the most part. Crazy glue isn't flexible so it was snapping off, but the jewellery glue sometimes loses it's hole. I kid you not I tried about 15 glues before settling on the jewellery glue.

Thank you for the constructive criticism.

Not sure if they have this in Canada but I used Gorilla Super Glue, it has some flexibility to it, very easy to use, and has held up extremely well with my other costumes. I think any of the super glues that have rubber-like qualities will probably work.

Oh yeah, we've got that up here. I know it's available at Wal-Mart and Home Depot, may also be at Canadian Tire and Rona though I haven't checked those places out yet.

Btw, I just wanted to say these harnesses are wicked kewl to see in person. Visited with kingsley last weekend and got to see what he had going on in the workshop. Having worked with him on one or two projects in the past (one was Mal's holster from Firefly), I can attest to the quality of his pieces.

And whoever made the machined aluminum parts did a nice job, too. Those paired with his harness make for a really nice costume piece.
