Wow! Amazing! Is the instrument going to be functional?

Thanks! I did think about trying to get a wireless speaker in it, but it's quite narrow so it's just going to be a prop.

Because the seam isn’t super sharp it ends up looking organic, like something akin to a vein in the head, and I honestly doubt the layman is going to notice it with their naked eye. Both pieces came out great

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I tried to smooth it down as best I could. At least (like you said) it looks organic. I figured most views/photos are going to be from head on as well...

So this is the Kloo Horn...

I went to my local DIY store and found some 40mm pvc pipe, that was just right for the job.

I then cut out a whole load of Foamex rings, using my work's CNC router. I made them a snug fit so no glue was necessary.

For the end details I found a tube off cut (that had a slightly larger inside diameter that the piece I want to make) released the inside with Vaseline and poured in some fast cast resin.

Once set, I knocked the resin out of the tube and turned it to the correct size/shape on a lathe.

For the curvy mouthpiece pipe I'm using some spare copper brake hose from my car. This will then be covered in black heat shrink.

The mid section and details are made from some modified pipe connectors, Foamex, and thin steel bar.

Filler and more Foamex details were then added.

All that's left is to paint then it's ready to join the rest of the Modal Nodes!

It has a small hole in its "mouth" that allows for mouth breathing to be directed straight out. It gets hot very quickly and is by no means practical... it's crazy what we sacrifice for accuracy!

Finally got around to painting the Kloo horn!

I had just enough time to snap a photo of everything before it went off to its new owner...
