Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Although so inexpensive it can't be denied that all 4 of those frames do look really good, and certainly "classier" than their price tag.
I've just ordered a purple/lilac hoodie for the same colour match idea.
I'm just considering buying the green lens version right now

I’ve got 3 of the 4 and the green is probably my favorite of the lot. I say go for it!

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure on the green. They're ordered.
When they arrive I'll have the same 4 as in UV400s photo.
I think each frame has some really nice touches that belies the price

I agree about the frames and think the quality definitely outweighs the price tag. I'm actually hoping he wears some more Polaroids at some point.

You'll enjoy wearing your green 6115's when they arrive, just add green somewhere in your outfit to compliment them!!...

Obviously, RDJ has been "all matching" for years, I didn't realise as was paying too much attention to the eyewear!! I first noticed the subtle little style touches when he had a matching color bracelet to the s1948 NV8H...
20201022_184143.png

(Apologies, off Polaroid topic), but I've been trying to ID these...
20201007_084135.png 20201007_084209.png 20201022_185909.png

..but it wasn't until I found some more pictures of the other cast members having a turn at wearing them, that the picture quality showing the frames improved slightly...
20201007_084101.png 20201007_095303.png

They are Monumental by Karen Walker "Ali" (again!!).

I think they are the bronze model 1882431 which come with blue lenses...
20201007_084801.png 20201007_084748.png

Based on that there would only be 2 other models, apart from the peach 1821927 that most of us probably have...

Black 1821920...
20201007_090230.png
Green 1821921...
20201007_090300.png

Altough in some shots, the lenses look a bit purple, this shot in particular, shows them a bit more blue...
20201007_095246.png

The lenses are a bit puzzling. If the lenses aren't custom or switched, the slight purple appearance may just be the lighting changing the blue.
Bear in mind the color fluctuations in the "Ali" product shots, specifically, how different the peach lens color has looked...
20201007_090112.png 20201007_090212.png

It's a pity though, out of all the Karen Walker frames, the more obvious choice and IMO rather stylish "JARVIS" model hasn't been worn!!...:D(y)

Great post UV400.
I noticed the colour matching first with the lilac tips and t shirt a while back, and then again with the Police frames and bracelet. I guess women have been doing subtle matching forever so it's nothing new and high time guys paid more attention to detail
I like the blue lens Ali, very nice. I keep telling myself no more for a while and then.... they may end up being a nice Christmas present to myself.

I had the Kunio delivered last week, they're really cool with a nice classy feel to them, they were supposed to be the Christmas present to myself

Thanks man!! :D

You're totally right about it being high time us guys paid more attention to the subtle details!!(y)

It's so funny that you've been giving yourself pre Christmas presents...that's precisely what I've been doing!! Lol
It's hard to have restraint when there are so many good deals out there, especially in the run up to Christmas, as it seems a lot easier to self justify yourself a treat...I'm trying to learn to "just say no", but it's still a work in progress, as I missed the first therapy class shopping for sunglasses!! Haha:D

I've just bought a pair Garrett Leight Grant, - Oops I did it again!!

"Looks like it's going to be an early Christmas"

I got the Initium 50% off any style Halloween sale email.

My reaction - "aaaahhhh nuts!"

I think they are the Cecil, Centena Collection, from Kirk & Kirk...
Hi Beristark,
you are totally correct (y):D(y), they are Kirk & Kirk, but I think they might be "Percy" in Royal C6 (translucent blue frame) 50□22 with custom light blue lenses...
20201023_081936.png 20201023_082254.png

The Kirk & Kirk frames really do look a lot alike and are similar in style and shape!!o_O

The other Kirk & Kirk frames I think he has worn are;):

"Carter" in Pacific SP1 (translucent blue frame) 54□19 with clear lenses...
20201023_081922.png 20201023_082224.png 20210123_184742.png

"Cecil" in Jade C9 (translucent green frame) 54□16 with clear lenses...
20201023_081852.png 20201023_082138.png

"Victor" in Purple K19 (translucent purple frame) 51□19 with custom light purple/pink lenses...
20201023_081907.png 20201023_082206.png 20210111_103002.png

"Ray" in Purple K19 (translucent purple frame) 54□18 with clear lenses.

I don't have any of those Kirk & Kirk's in my collection as they are a bit pricey, but it would be awesome to have the set of 4!!

I did pick up a pair of "Kirk Originals" though, which company is confusingly linked to "Kirk & Kirk".

I've found this info. online and apologise if it isn't accurate, but it seems there are 2 companies that are linked by the same history??o_O

"Kirk Originals" was set up in 1992 in London by a descendant of Sidney and Percy Kirk, founders of Kirk Brothers in 1919.

Jason & Karen Kirk set up "Kirk & Kirk" in London in 2013 (Jason's Grandfather was Sidney and Percy was his great Uncle, again, founders of Kirk Brothers in 1919)

Sincere apologies, as that's as clear as mud!! Sounds like it's a family thing, with separate descendants having the same eyewear heritage.
Maybe they could team up as Kirk & Kirk & Kirk!!

Anyway, got these blue Kirk Originals "Paul" super cheap and put some clear lenses in...

Which if I've ID'ed them correctly, are Cutler and Gross 1044 BL semi-translucent blue frame 51□19 145 with clear lenses.
20201023_112624.png 20201023_112638.png

My replica C&G 1308 GPL-04 (posted a while back) deceptively look the part now a lot more, since I treated them to their very own C&G box and case. I often have to remind myself they aren't actual C&G's!!...

Those 1308 replicas look really nice.
The actual C&G 1308 gpl 04 version is my biggest regret. I didn't get them when I had my finger on the "buy" button as I wasn't sure if they would suit me, or get enough wear time. Since then I bought the Polaroid 6093s which are cheap enough to risk and they look good.

The 1308 gpl04's were out of stock the last few times I checked ( and had the spare £435)

I don't know if they're likely to come back in stock. Can anyone answer that?

I think they are discontinued, some retailers have limited stock of other colors, but as you say, the prices are very high.
Going from past experience (and I can't say for sure), but it's unlikely that discontinued frames ever become available back in stock (apart from one lucky instance when I found a single pair of Raen Ditmar's that weirdly just appeared on SmartBuyGlasses!!).
Keep checking in on those retailers though, as you might get lucky if the prices are slashed in an "old stock" clearance sale!! :D

As he's also been spotted in the Vogue brand, "In Vogue" VO2777-S W44/71 52□18 146, matte black with stock green lenses...
20201023_154340.png 20201023_154354.png 20201023_154530.png

...and VO2777-S (again, but W656/13) tortoise with custom orange/red lenses...
20201023_152633.png 20201023_152659.png 20201023_153034.png

(Apologies for some of the bad quality images there!!)

...it's just a thought, but you might also want to look at the Vogue VO4106S 55□17 125 (part of the brands Gigi Hadid range) as another option, as their rectangle shape has the same vibe of the Polaroid 6093's, Karen Walker Ali and the C&G 1308's. The gold looks more semi-matte though. The 55mm size sits between the 1308's 53mm and the 6093's 56mm.

There are a few color options, but nothing with the 1308 GPL-04 light green lens color.

There is a better gold color with the 848/7H...
20201023_164112.png

Obviously, at that price they should have a good quality feel, but a second hand bargain may be a better option and you'd obviously get rid of the "Vogue" lens logo if putting in light green customs. The 4106 do come up on ebay quite often.

Thanks a lot for that UV400.

I emailed Cutler & Gross about an hour ago. They did confirm they're discontinued. They are checking the warehouse to see if a rogue pair still exists there, which was decent of them.

I'll have a look at those vogue frames. I actually like the half frame options, particularly the custom orange/red lenses.
